Good video, terrible narration,

The video clips of construction machinery were pretty good but the inane narration plus the hard rock music detracted from the content of the video. 'Better (similar) video would be Fred Levine's "Road Construction Ahead" or Sandbox Video's "Trucks, Tractors, and Trains", which treat the subject in a more mature manner. My two year old also turned away from this one, mostly from the irritating sounds it made. 'Would have been better to hear the equipment sounds instead of the narrator and rock music.

I have two toddler boys who love this movie. They ask for it every day. It seems the movie was made just for them.

My toddler is addicted.,

Help!!!! My 2 1/2 year old has recurring addictions to this video! The tape is beginning to disintegrate, but he still loves it. My son knows all the drivers and operators (male and female, thank you) by name, and asks us to sing the various songs/music on demand. When he plays with his excavator, the driver is always Dave, and so on. When his pushes his toy wheel loader, he always refers to himself as Scotty. True, the music may not always be toddler- appropriate and the narrator, Jennifer, is a total ditz and may have marred my son's opinion of women for the rest of his life, but the video emphasizes safety and my son can't get enough of it.

Mighty Construction Machines is a wonderful example of a video that engages the sight, hearing and imagination of a child. I have given several of these videos to friends with young children and all have loved it. Even the parents report that they enjoy watching it, especially to see their child's reactions and discoveries. I enjoy the sounds of the machines and the way the video naturally presents this childhood fascination with construction machines in a way that engages both girls and boys. This video is lively, interesting and just good fun. I highly recommend it.

I've seen better,

I've seen better children's videos about construction and trucks. The narrator of this one, a cheerleader-type apparently on one too many espressos, is quite irritating. Plus the presentation and titles look like they were done by a first-timer trying out every option the camera offers. My 2-1/2 yr. old -- who adores trucks and machinery -- avoids this title. We like "Gus and Sam's Construction Adventure," which we found at Toys R Us.

MIGHTY WONDERFUL,

This video is somthing special. It's as if it were made by people who love making videos just for kids. And it's great for adults, too, because it remains enjoyable even after many many many viewings. We, too, feel like this video was made just for our children, who ask to watch it nearly every day. Highly recommended, and much better than the There Goes A... series.

Enjoyed through the years by my four children,

We have owned this video since it first came out, it is well loved and worn. It has been enjoyed by my three older children - a girl and two boys. And, now my fourth child, a 2 1/2 year old boy is enjoying it too. When my older kids hear the familiar video - they will still sit down to watch. A real plus is that the machine operators are both female and male - how smart! Also, the music is enjoyable enough that it does not grate on parents, even after 7 years!

A "mighty" classic in the toddler construction machine world,

This is a great video for my 2-1/2 yr. old toddler, who loves construction machines. It's also a movie that my husband and I can watch many times without going out of our minds. It's just the right length. The presentation of machines is clear and straightforward. There is a brief introduction to each machine operator (male and female), real people discussing what it's like to operate these machines. We all learned the correct names of all the construction machines. My son loves the title song of this video, which is simply "Mighty Construction Machines" sung over and over again. He sings it all the time! Today, our copy broke by accident, and we are looking to replace it immediately! It's a great distraction and calming tool for those toddler tantrums, too! We highly recommend it.
