Fix, seal and repair anything fast and make it last with Mighty FixitTM Tape. This flexible silicone wrap is no ordinary tape, it creates an airtight, watertight seal that flexes like rubber, but is as strong as steel. Use it to fix any surface, wet or dry, including leaky pipes, electric cords, vacuum hoses and more. Mighty FixitTM fuses to itself, creating a super tight bond without leaving a sticky residue. It even works in temperatures below zero! Set of 3 rolls includes one blue, red and yellow.

We tried to use it to fix a plumbing leak.

This is similar to the scotch brand tape but this is way much cheaper and does what it says.

I've taken pictures so at some point I'll upload and edit this, but try it yourself and see.

"Mighty Fixit" is on of the few "As Seen On TV" products that actually worked well for me. After using this for several repairs, this has earned a place in my "qucik fix" tool box.

The package contains three 10' rolls of the tape in Red, Blue, and Yellow color, but I would have preferred White and\or Black to better match the items being fixed. Using the tape is easy, clean the surface (really important), just cut off a length of the tape, begin to wrap the tape (removing the protective plastic protective shield as you go), and stretch the tape, overlapping it as you cover the damaged area.

This works well on hoses and electric cords, but not very well on galvanized pipes. Keep expectations realistic and you will find a lot of uses for this helpful stuff.

[Good]

Strong: For patching together anything plastic, this is perfect! I saved so much money patching up my breaking Macbook power adaptor, my iPhone USB cable, and even my Panasonic phone headset. So far I've saved over a hundred bucks with this product. The way it works is that it activates when you stretch it and attach it to itself (by wrapping). Eventually it will meld with itself. It's much better than electrical tape and duct tape for patching things like small cables, with a fit that is much tighter.

Cheap easy fix for garden hoses

UPDATE Plumbing: I previously mentioned that, "I don't understand why they are marketing this as a fix for pipes. Even on the packaging it states that it's only a 'Temporary' fix for any water leaks." I was wrong. I had a leaking PVC pipe. I tried some putty cement that helped, but didn't fix the problem. I then put on this silicone tape over the now dried putty cement. It's been over half a year now and that pipe still doesn't leak.

[Bad]

Color: Most of the plastic things that I patch are either black, white, or a shade of gray. I think it's really stupid not to have either black, white, or gray colored tape. It's even more retarded to include bright red, yellow, and blue tape, so instead blending in, this stuff really sticks out. It cheapens anything you use with it. I guess the color scheme makes sense if you use it with pipes to identify the patches. The color is so annoying in my opinion that it merits taking away 1 star.

Strong: The good part about using duct tape and electrical tape is that you can eventually remove it if you want. You may be able to do it with mighty fixit, but I imagine that it will be very difficult and you'll probably stand the risk of cutting the plastic that it's wrapped around.

[Summary]

Totally worth the money if you have any electronics with thin cables like Apple products, as well as non-critical PVC plumbing.

Very good job at stopping leaks. I used it in my kitchen on some pipes and i haven't seen a leak since. I would definitely recommend this item!

UPDATE: I initially gave this 5 stars because I had used it to stop a small leak and in the beginning it worked. However, it failed to work after a short while and the leak came right back. I am trying something else now!

This is basically duct tape for pipes. It is strong, easy to work with, and really seals cracks in pipes and joints. My kitchen sink needed to be "MacGyver-ed" because it was a modern sick over old pipes. It was necessary to get creative with the exhaust pipe but with this tape I was able to make it work. No leaks and no problems ever since. I keep it in the house with my screw drivers and hammer. It is a tool.

You'll want to keep this on hand. It has a multitude of uses. It sticks to itself and can be wrapped and stretched for a neat fit. I bought it in case of a plumbing leak. It'll stop a leak as long as you can wrap it around itself. If you're uneasy about the repair, you can call a plumber on a non-emergency basis or get the necessary parts. Although the label says that it is only temporary... well, I used a temporary plumbing fix and it lasted for eight years and unless I was replacing the pipe for an upgrade, it'd probably still be ok. For that, I used the putty-like goop. I have that on hand, also. I can see where this tape would be good for electric wire also instead of electrical tape. And it would be ideal for a garden hose repair.

Had a leaking pipe. Slowed the leak to a trickle immediately. After 24 hours the leak stopped completely. Great product. Worth every penny.

I used the Blue tape to wrap around the handle of my Felco pruners and it looks & works great!

UPDATE: I had to use Mighty Fix it on a sort of temporary emergency repair in the garden after accidentally puncturing the irrigation line (black poly pipe) in several spots. I bought new pipe within a few days and replaced all the sections I punctured except for 1~ as an experiment to see how long it holds up. It has been several weeks already! Even though the package says not recommended for that sort of repair~ I'm impressed! Good to keep around just in case!

So, I know when you read the directions, this product should only be of temporary use when it comes to indoor plumbing. Why I gave this 2 stars is because I had a not-so-big leak under my kitchen sink. It didn't create much mess, but I just didn't like the fact that it was leaking. I came across this in a store and decided to buy it ($14.35). As I started stretching and wrapping the tape around the leaking pipe, it worked for about 5 seconds, and a new leak came out of where I had just put the tape. I wrapped the leak yet again with another strip of tape, about three times. This went on for about 2 hours, because whenever I would wrap up a leak, a new one would appear in another spot. Now, you may this leak was just "fast" or something for a plumber to fix, but no. It was a really small leak. It would fill about one cup full in 20 minutes if the water were to be left running. Anyways, eventually, I had used all three rolls of tape. Was the leak fixed? Not entirely. Now, the leak isn't as bad. Only a drop of water falls every few minutes. That's not what I wanted, though. I wanted the leak to be GONE, yet it is still there. Also, the last strip of tape that I had stretched and wrapped around the pipe just keeps on coming off. It's been twenty minutes since I reapplied it for the second time. If it comes off a third time, I'm just going to take it off, which unfortunately, makes the leak a tad bit faster than it is when that one last strip of tape is on. Horrible product. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to call a plumber in, but now, I guess I'll just have to. Waste of money, if you ask me.
