The power and beauty of Phil Perry's voice shine on this selection of classics especially on the Spinners' "Mighty Love" and a breathtaking take of "If You Don't Know Me By Now"..
On ballads like Tony Braxton's "Unbreak MY Heart" and Smokey Robinson's "Just To See Her", Phil Perry combines the delicate yet passionate vocal with SOUL. A worthy successor to his first album of covers in the series The Classic Love Songs. It's a valid and pleasant album that will appeal to both Soul and R&B fans. Only a dash too predictable.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexcellent!!!,

Quite honestly, I had always preferred to hear Phil do a guest spot every now and then on an established jazz artist's project, i.e. George Duke, David Benoit, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour to name a few. He generally gave an effective reading of the song in question but had this tendency to go over the top sometimes.
Not the case here, folks. This is by far one of Phil's very best projects successfully blending R&B with top-notch jazz musicians. The musicians are quite simply impeccable which complement Phil's controlled, soulful, and soothing vocals. His renditions of "Might Love", "Ride Like the Wind", "The World Is A Ghetto", "Everything Must Change" are all alone worth the price of admission!!! You should also check out his "Classic Love Songs" and the project immediately before this. His treatments of such standards here are equally impressive. Phil definitely breathes new light into standards elevating them from mere elevator music to a listening experience that is most worthy of sophisticated music collections. It also appears that Phil has finally found his niche. Instead of trying to snatch a sale with futile (and unnecessary) attempts at reaching a hip-hop audience, he has aligned himself with some of the finest jazz musicians around to create an excellent set which would nicely translate into a wonderful live show! I HIGHLY recommend!

I love this cd. Phil did a lot of remakes that were just his style. I love what he did with this. You won't be sorry.

This is an excellent CD. I heard a track from the CD on the radio-"The World is a Ghetto" and I had to have it. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Phil Perry can take an already classic song and make it his own classic. Once again he has done it with A Mighty Love. This album covers those songs you know but with that Phil Perry touch that has you singing oh so much. Ride Like the Wind is my jam on this cd. Honor and UnBreak My Heart are two other standouts to me on this album. This is another one of those cds I just play while I am riding or working and simply listen and sing along as the time pleasantly passes by.

This CD was not Phil's best work. His voice is so much better than the way it came off in this offering. I feel that he should get back to the producers that made his first 2 CD's and who had a better take on the pulse of what TRUE R&B is.
I still love you Phil. You are one in several million and I know that you are a blessed balladeer. Luther is now gone and the slot is very opened right now. Go For It!

While I enjoyed this CD, I must admit I was disappointed this was another classic songs CD instead of new material. Phil Perry is a wonderful artist and I'm looking forward to the next CD overflowing with new and exciting material.

I haven't listen to this album but I'm sure for us Phil fans its great. But I'm kind've tired of all the remake albums. I love Phil's originial material alwhole lot better than the remakes (Same goes for Maysa). F.M.L. (My Fantasy, My Mystery, My Love) is one of my favorite songs. This is why I feel that music is about 75% songwriting and 25% voice. I guess its really, really hard to write a good song these days. Anyway, I would love to see Phil live and probably will in the future since he does tour alot. For the Phil fans who gets the album, enjoy.
