5.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Construction Machines
My three year old and four year old love this video. They have learned so much about construction machines, and the video assumes that kids can learn everything they are teaching. The narrator and several of the machine operators are female, so the video provides wonderful examples of equality at work. My childern want to watch it over and over again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Machines at the Construction Site Lacks Variety
I bought this video for my two year old son. He loves all kinds of trucks and can name different ones in his board books. This video was disappointing because it had no variety and was boring. It focused mostly on excavators and cranes, with only a quick glimpse of a bull dozer and fork lift. It did not keep my son's interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Machines, The Series, December 20, 2002

Despite the reviews of boring from Amazon, the whole series has never ceased to entertain and educate my children whose ages range from 3 - 12 years. All of them sit glued to the tv for the entire show and then spend hours talking about it and role playing it. What a great series of videos. Their faves are at the race track and, of course, at the demolition site.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Machines series, March 30, 2004

We have a couple of this series now, the Construction site and Trains. I took the train one to a ski trip and the adults were even interested in it. This series is done in a visual format very easy for my then 2 1/2yr old (now 4) to watch, understand and enjoy. To this day he still goes to the video draw and chooses The MM at the construction site, as a favorite. The format is set up as if the machine is talking directly to him. This series is based from the Toronto area and is a quality product. I could not recommend anything more for this age range. It's not just a mindless video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Toddlers love Mighty Machines!, December 3, 2003

My 2 1-2 year old LOVEs this video. I'm online now trying to find it (preferrably on DVD) because our video rental place does not have a rent-to-own program... otherwise we would have at least 3 copies by now. My 5 year old still watches it too, but has switched gears from trucks to robots so is not as interested.

The production quality is not all that great (as you would expect) but it has great shots of real trucks in action. The kids love the songs (and I must admit to singing along on car trips). The narration is on the cutsey side (talking construction machines with some goofy names and voices) but much less annoying for adults than the slapstick Dave & Becky of the "There goes a..." series. It is informative for the target age group.

I highly recommend this video for young children with a fascination with trucks. The other videos in the series are of similar quality.
