5.0 out of 5 stars Still one of my kids favorites
My kids are older than the average Stilton reader (10 & 11) but still enjoy reading these books. They started with his first book years ago and still look forward to the new ones. They have moved on towards to more advanced reading books but they feel that reading Geronimo's is like going back to their comfort zone every once in a while.

2.0 out of 5 stars Seemed like it would be a good book but .....
I bought this book for my son who is seven years old and very interested in geography and adventures. While the book does focus on Geronimo and his friend climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro it does not go very in depth. Much of the book is wasted on sensless filler and by the time you finish reading it you wonder if it was worth it. The book is filled with references to cheese...

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Geronimo Stilton, October 14, 2010

This is a typical Geronimo Stilton adventure, and all I can think is that the earlier reviewer must not have read any other books in the series.

It's full of the usual jokes at Geronimo's expense and the amusing asides. It has the usual tidbits of factual information should your child be interested. And of course, it has the usual fun typesetting and colourful fonts that help to hold interest.

My son loves Geronimo Stilton. He loves the humour and silliness, and he loves the fact that Geronimo is always on the receiving end of the jokes.

This book easily held his interest, had him chuckling, and he may have even learned something.

These books are great! They are very creative and fun to read. My son loves them! We bought this one the week he studied Mt. Kilimanjaro in school. He was thrilled!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stilton Rules, January 11, 2011

The whole series of Geronimo Stilton books is enjoyable for young children. My son, who is nine, has been reading them since he was around six or seven. At first, I read them to him at night; however, he quickly started reading them on his own, and he wants to read them, which is ALWAYS a good thing.

The book is filled with references to cheese (Geronimo is a mouse). The constant mention of cheese throughout the book became tiresome and downright boring. My son lost interest because of all the filler in the book and we didn't really learn anything new about Mt. Kilimanjaro than we already knew. Save your money and get one of the Geronimo Stilton books from the library to see if your child will like it before you spend your money. Some children may like the Geronimo stories because of the talking mouse but if your child is interested in learning more about history, geography or adventure these books fall short.
