This charger will only provide enough power to open and close your gate four times if you live in the northern U.S.!I placed an order for this charger at the same time that I ordered the Mighty Mule gate opener (FM350). What no one told me, and I did not find out until I read the installation manual for the gate opener, is that the 5 watt charger will only provide enough juice for a MAXIMUM of 4 gate cycles per day in the northern U.S. (Most or all of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, MN, WI, Iowa, IL, Michigan, and almost everything north of the Mason-Dixon Line. In those areas a 10 watt panel will give 8 cycles, 15 watts = 11 cycles, 20 watts = 14 cycles, 30 watts = 20 cycles. Now I need to send this panel back and get at least a 15 watt system. :(

I live in central Florida and have a 12' gate. This solar panel keeps my 12 volt battery charged perfectly. We open the gate probably 7 times a day (counting open & close as one) and have never had a power problem.
