4.0 out of 5 stars A Defining Moment and Major Turning Point for Thor
This book much like its predecessor (Death of Odin) set the stage for this title in a way that is unprecedented in the comic world today. Its reflective as to why now Thor is one of the hottest titles Marvel and its owed in part due to this storyline. Not to spoil too much but this story expands in Thor's inheritance of his father's power and role of Lord of Asgard. It...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun "What If--?" Story.... WAY OVERPRICED
I just read this story arc, from "Death of Odin" to "Gods And Men".
Its a fun "What If--?" kind of story, although the ending felt rushed.

What trips me out is the insane pricing for these books! $50-$200?
Just this saturday (6/5/10) I bought "Death of Odin" and "Lord of Asgard" at my local comic book shop for COVER PRICE... Plus, they gave me a...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Defining Moment and Major Turning Point for Thor, January 24, 2009

This review is from: The Mighty Thor Book Two: Lord of Asgard (Marvel Comics) (Paperback)
It explores as to why his father took such a position as non-interference to Earth (midgard) and Thor's alternative direction. The results are cataclysmic as Thor brings Asgard in the view of Earth which unseats the social-political and theological view points of human society. It's a fantastic story and journey which truly provides insight to Thor's philosophy which is instilled even in today's storyline.

Excellent read, however it's a terrible price for this TPB. I really wish Marvel would get off their can and start re-issuing these trades so that these sellers can stop gouging fans wanting to collect these stories.

Just this saturday (6/5/10) I bought "Death of Odin" and "Lord of Asgard" at my local comic book shop for COVER PRICE... Plus, they gave me a 20% discount.

I don't understand the huge markup, especially for these books, which aren't that sought after.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sorry, Thor bores me., June 11, 2006
This review is from: The Mighty Thor Book Two: Lord of Asgard (Marvel Comics) (Paperback)
This is a good attempt to do something different with Thor, but ultimately a boring book. There are two ways to tell a Thor story, either have it happen on Earth, or in Asgard. It sounds like a good idea to do both at the same time, but even two Thor's don't make one good story.
