1.0 out of 5 stars Migo Rescue Premium not for all users, July 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Migo Rescue Premium (CD-ROM)
I purchased Migo Rescue Premium soley on the #1 rating it got from Top Ten Reviews.
What a mistake! Nowhere in the #1 review article did they mention that Rescue Premium ONLY recovers DELETED data, and CAN NOT rescue ANY data from a FORMATTED disk. Also when reading the product package and discription, nowhere does it mention that it can not recover formatted disks. There are several products that WILL rescue data from a formatted disk, and I had to purchace another one just to get my data back.
Now I'm stuck with a piece of useless software which can not be returned.
I have also contacted the reviewer and told them that the product did not work as per their raving #1 review, and that they should revise their review to mention the products shortcomings. Also to take it out of its undeserved #1 rank.
Finaly, if you just deleted a file, this product may work. However if you crash and have to reformat, use another product...one with reformatted disk rescue capabilities.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with Windows 7, July 18, 2011

This review is from: Migo Rescue Premium (CD-ROM)
I purchased this software based on a stellar review that I found on a website. That website says that it is compatible with Windows 7. It is not!!! It only found 4 files from a 200gb drive that was full.

I'm seeking a refund, but had to buy GetDataBack for NTFS, which works perfectly. (I'm running Windows 7 64bit).

1.0 out of 5 stars Migital [sic] rescue program, March 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Migo Rescue Premium (CD-ROM)
I cannot recommend this software to anyone that is serious about rescuing deleted (or moved, not overwritten) files. It could not even find my SDHC card. I am using a card reader as the Support Site suggests, and the camera, but it does not see the card. Also, I have a 1 TB Hard Drive that has thousands of files to recover, and the program only found 4, and one that would be useful to recover, when I tried, the program that created it (Adobe Premiere) claimed that the file was corrupted.

One thing that it does have in its favor, the scan only took a couple of seconds, and didn't waste my time in realizing that this software really wasn't cracked up to its billing (TopTenReviews ranks this as #1). Not what I would consider a top ten rescue program.

If I were to recommend a recovery software... GetDataBack (GDB) pulled a lot of deleted files from the fore-mentioned SDHC card and 1TB Hard drive. The problem with GDB is that it is more expensive than Digital Rescue and it has a separate program for NTFS and FAT drives. But at least it found my files.

Here's one thing I don't understand: Amazon has this listing for Migo Digital Rescue Premium... is there a difference between this and Migo Digital Rescue Premium - Windows? Maybe I should have gotten the other version.
