Mikasa Antique White 6-Inch Cereal Bowls, Set of 4

We have the larger set of antique white mikasa dishes, and we love the set. The soup bowls the big set came with are too shallow for cereal, and so we bought these. These bowls look nice, but they are too large for cereal bowls. They do not stack well on the shelf and they take up a lot of space in the dishwasher as well. Maybe they would be good for small serving bowls?

I recently had to obtain new dinnerware; I wanted something all white. After purchasing a stoneware set from Pfaltzgraff and watching it get completely scratched up after 1 week's use, I returned it all. A bridal consultant at Macy's suggested china instead of stoneware for durability reasons (including the four children who load and unload our dishwasher). We were intrigued with Mikasa's Antique White pattern but thought that it was out of our price range until we discovered it at Amazon. We <love> our new plates and bowls and have begun collecting other serving pieces. It's lighter than stoneware, and makes even tacos seem more elegant. The pieces have already been clanked together soundly without a crack, scratch, or chip. We are very happy with this purchase.

We are extremely happy with our purchase; the Mikasa dishes exceeded our expectations. Great value; cleans with minimal effort; looks elegant; strong and easily put in the microwave. We are going to buy more.

These bowls look nice, but I agree with the other reviewers; they are too large for cereal bowls. But they are just the right size for my teenage son with his huge appetite. I also use them for salads, vegetables, and as serving dishes. The bowls are very sturdy for everyday use and stay cool when heated in the microwave.I love them.The set arrived quickly and in great packaging. I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon.

Last year for Christmas, I received the set of Mikasa Antique White Dinnerware to replace my mutt mix of Corelle. I always swore I would only have Corelle because of its durability and longevity as opposed to stoneware. This doesn't feel quite as destruction proof, but pretty close to it. The bowls that come with the set are wide mouthed and I'm not particularly fond of them. These cereal bowls have a much better shape, but are still quite large. I bought my mom a set or the cereal bowls for her birthday and she complains that she can only stack 3 in her cabinet. I, however, don't have that problem with mine and love using them for anything from a large bowl of cereal to making the perfect bowl of ice cream.

The Antique White has two different table settings available. One with the rimmed soup bowls and a standard cup and saucer. That's the one I got because I didn't know any better and the sales person at Macy's either didn't know or care that the set I would have preferred had I known about it would have been the set that came with the cereal bowls and the Cappuccino mugs. So now I have both sets of bowls. Anybody want some cups and saucers?

The cereal bowls are beautiful. My suggestion is that if they can be made less deep. They are two big.

We both love these attractive, strong and useful bowls. They are 3" deep, so that when I have a small salad, or a bowl of cereal and fruit, or a bowl of porridge and almonds, it is easy to mix the contents without it spilling out. I haven't used them yet for soup, but, I would imagine that they will do just fine.

The bowls grip easily in my hand and allow for a more enjoyable eating experience. They stack nicely and even stack well with my old bowls. And..... the looks can't be beat!

For only $30 for four, with free shipping, this is a STEAL! I've just ordered two more sets.

Love these bowls for soups or gumbo. Just big enough for fewer spills and my husband always complained about other bowls being too small. The price was great also.
