Mikasa's Antique White pieces are a simple, creamy off-white in color, but their slightly formal, architectural style draws attention; these are not plain dishes, but merely understated. Antique White is an Ultima pattern; Ultima is one of Mikasa's patented chip-resistant fine china styles, ultra-sturdy and high-fired to be useful under a wide temperature range.

The Antique White tall cappuccino mug is fluted like a sculpted pillar; the sides rise to a flared rim, with a textured triple line separating the two. As with the shorter Antique White mug, the gently flare of the rim accommodates a thick cap of frothed milk foam. The well-balanced mug handle also has the same subtle fluting. Mikasa's Antique White collection includes matching shorter cappuccino mugs and a sugar/creamer set, as well as full 5-piece place settings and a wide range of serving pieces.

Mikasa Ultima pieces--except for those with metallic ornamentation--are safe for use in the microwave and can withstand freezer-to-oven temperature changes. They are also dishwasher safe for easy cleanup. The 12-ounce tall cappuccino mug stands 4-1/2 inches tall and has a 3-1/2-inch diameter (5 inches across including handle). I bought the single serving Mikasa set as a 'trial' to see if I wanted to purchase the entire 8 serving set for holiday dining without having to committ myself to a huge expenditure. I bought this coffee mug as an add on because I drink coffee every morning and wanted to try out a 9oz. glass as I am frequently annoyed by the enormity of the current sizes of dinnerware.

This cup is awsome! I use it every morning and regret the mornings I have to leave for work and use a travel mug!!

As a side note, I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old and while I find I have to watch them around the dishes a lot. Well, one time I wasn't home my husband told me my 1 yr old threw one of the plates onto the floor and it didn't break/chip or anything so.....although it wasn't the coffee mug, the plates hold up fine!

I highly recommend this cup, it is elegant and comfortable in my hand. :)

A perfect match for my morning coffee! The cups are tall so I can fill them with more coffee than my smaller cups. They are tall, so the coffee keeps warmer, longer. They are pretty, which makes the whole experience of drinking from them pleasant. A great product!!

This antique white is so attractive on any table. When I place my plates on different color place mats or table cloths these mugs and dishes make the whole table POP! It's amazing how a simple pattern can compliment any color scheme even your food looks attractive. Bon appetite!
