4.0 out of 5 stars Supersized?
Okay, so today our glasses and dinnerware -- plates and bowls -- seem to be getting bigger and bigger.... but our flatware, too?

This set seemed to be manufactured for a race of giants. The quality is great, but the size is bizarre. I haven't used mine yet, and may not until that guy thunders down the beanstalk and drops in for dinner.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusts after first wash
I was raised using Mikasa cutlery and my family never had an issue. I received two sets of this cutlery as gifts. Per instructions of Mikasa they say to wash before use. The first time I washed one of my sets 2/3's of them rusted. Mikasa does provide instructions for how to get rust, which shouldn't have happened anyways, to go away and it did not work. My husband's John...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice flatware set, August 27, 2009

I bought this 18/0 stainless steel 20 piece flatware set from Amazon during a goldbox deal. The pieces are very well made and have quite a bit of weight to them so they don't look or feel cheap, they feel more in line with what you might eat with at a fine restaurant. I've read that 18/0 stainless steel has 0% nickel content and this makes it much less resistant to pitting and corrosion when compared to 18/10 stainless steel flatware which has a higher nickel content.

I'm hoping that if I take good care of the flatware that it won't rust, other than that I'm very happy with my purchase.

I like this set of flatware. The utensils are fairly large compared with the other set(s) we have.

I'm very pleased with this flatware. Looks lovely on the table, has a great feel, and keeps it's beautiful shine. Have washed it many times in the dishwasher and by hand. I'm happy I bought it. Excellent value here.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusts after first wash, February 24, 2011

I was raised using Mikasa cutlery and my family never had an issue. I received two sets of this cutlery as gifts. Per instructions of Mikasa they say to wash before use. The first time I washed one of my sets 2/3's of them rusted. Mikasa does provide instructions for how to get rust, which shouldn't have happened anyways, to go away and it did not work. My husband's John Deere $5 cutlery is holding up better than this set. Due to this experience I have returned my second set and will be very hesitant to buy Mikasa ever again.
