We've had this as a day-to-day set for a few years. I do put them into dishwasher and microwave. So far only one plate cracked (dropped it). No chips. They are heavy (I don't mind it). Dinner plates are big (looks cool even with little food on), but turn off the turn table of your microwave as the corners will hit the walls otherwise.

Mikasa Gourmet Basics
These dishes are much too heavy and the dinner plate is too large. There were a couple of scratches on some of the plates upon arrival which makes me wonder how they will hold up over time.
