Nice dinnerware; completely fictional MSRP,

You'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer dinnerware set than this for the price. It's well designed, and beautfully finished--unlike a lot of off brands with their so-so glazing and bumpy surfaces. However, don't be fooled by Mikasa's fictional list price. For some reason, Mikasa and all the other china/stoneware/dinnerware makers feel they need to inflate their MSRPs to laughable heights. I can't imagine too many people are fooled by this tactic, but don't jump in too quickly without getting a comparison price. Remember that a high percentage discount from a fictional price is worthless if you still paid too much.

The original price looks like a bad joke but I am very pleased with what I got for around...Especially the fact that you can take the dinnerware from the freezer into the oven is great. Not that I always need to do this, but it is convenient to be able to place the plate directly into the oven. |
