I've been line judging volleyball matches at multiple levels for a decade (beginning youth through college division 1, men's & women's). I've tried numerous flags. These are the best I've found on the market. They're a great value. Unfortunately, I'm tempted to give them four stars because I truly believe better should be designed. The golf-grip handle is a huge step in the right direction. However, the cut-out in the aluminum shaft is a natural breaking point. And I can't help but believe there's got to be a better material for making the flag itself. This vinyl flag has decent "snap" while new. But, it quickly wears down & becomes challenging to make heard. If I'm wrong about there being a better material for the flag, then maybe a better design would include a consumable flag? Just make it easy to replace the flag and market the replacement flags (re-use the handle)? I've also encountered a couple of officials who'd like for line judging flags to include a hook at the end of the handle for attaching a wrist strap. (Although uncommon, even with the great grip on this handle, sometimes the tool gets away; and the cheap plastic-handle flags are very easy to lose from a sweaty palm).

I bought these as a gift for my daughter's high school team and the coach was thrilled. These flags, while inexpensive, are a quality product that gives the air of professionalism to the matches. There are 2 pair so the freshmen and JV can each use a set at the same time. I predict the case won't last long, but with care should serve its purpose for at least a few years.

I was the newby in the reffing circles and used what ever was provided by the school or the veteran refs. used a lot of cheap and unprofessional looking, unwieldy flags with no SNAP! Now at every match I/we proudly use mine. Invested in 4 as spares for the future. Great look, feel, quality, and SNAP! My call,... they are IN!
