Mikasa VSG Glow in the Dark Volleyball

I purchased 12 of these balls for an outdoor glow tournament. They held their glow charge for roughly five minutes. We spent the rest of the night charging and rotating the balls in and out of games. It would have been nice for the manufacturer to share this information on the front side in the product specs. We would have still probably purchased the product and run the tournament but we could have been prepared for this issue instead of scrambling to keep the balls glowing for the tournament.

First, this item only took a week to reach Afghanistan where i am working. The ball glows GREAT in pitch darkness. (the reason i bought it)However, it doesn't help prolong the games into the night LOL. (i wondered and had to get it). This ball has been through a lot.
Because we are stationed in the mountains with dry HOT HEAT, rocks, barbed wire and did i say really dry heat and barbed wire? This ball has hit this barbed wire more than once and keeps on ticking. I have at least 4 cuts on this thing and it still holds air, i haven't added any aire in 2 weeks.
Well worth the money for toughness, but not for the glow in the dark effects

I got this awhile ago for my friend. It was mailed to the wrong address and I called Amazon about it. They were really helpful and offered to have it shipped again with no extra charges. Amazon is awesome like that! As for the review about this volleyball, it does it's job. Came in perfect condition. The glowing aspect of it is mediocre. You can't really play this at night because it doesn't glow that much.

We bought this ball hoping that it would be a great ball with the added benefit of glowing in the dark and we have not been disappointed. We have yet to try it in the dark, but we love the feel and texture of the ball. It fits right in the spot of being not too hard to leave red marks in your arms, but not too soft that it takes the edge off the game.

It plays fine, but people I play with hesitate to use this on the beach. It's not white like they're used to.

Because the sky darkens so gradually, it really won't glow at all unless you shine a flashlight on it (and then it works quite nicely for a few minutes).

Here's my 2 cents... The quality of the ball is good and great to play with at the beach or park and the glowing feature does work, I noticed it glowing next to my bed at 11:00 pm one night!! I have yet to play in the dark...

Ball actually glows in the dark and is fun to play with at night :) !

Aside from having a battery powered ball, this ball does just fine. I set up my volleyball court on grass at night and surrounded it with 6 tiki lamps. It would have been better if I could have used black lights and put glow in the dark paint on the net but that will be some other time. This ball glows in the dark for a decent amount of time. I've left it outside for a few weeks and its held up. The ball is slightly stiffer (which i prefer) but if you don't play volleyball very often you probably won't notice too much of a difference.

durable with good quality in mind has glowing feature although not brightest and doesnt last long still a neat feature

I got this along with the Baden brand equivalent. The Mikasa was hands down the better of the two. Don't expect extended playing times though, the "glow" only last a few minutes before you will want to hold under a light to get it charged back up.
