4.0 out of 5 stars A good general history..., August 12, 2011
This review is from: Mi'kmaq: People of the Maritimes (Peoples of the Maritimes) (Paperback)
While visiting the Maritimes of Eastern Canada in July I noticed that while the Native People were part of much of the history in these region the History Museums and National Parks had very little in the way of books about the Mi'kmaq, who played a large part in the English-French relationships and conflicts. I was happy to finally find this book at Grand Pre even if it is only 74 pages. It does give a general overview of the archaeology information that tells us where they came from and how they lived so long ago, how they reacted to European contact, and how they survived afterwards. It does a very good job of showing that the culture is alive, and well, among the Maritimes today in Canadian society.

This review is from: Mi'kmaq: People of the Maritimes (Peoples of the Maritimes) (Paperback)
This book offered a lot of the information I needed for my research, although not quite enough about health and medicine practices. I highly recommend the supplier.
