Would recommend to anybody wanting more out of their twin cam.

If I change the cams, jump up to 98 cubes or upgrade the heads the carb will scale well to these modifications.

I replaced the stock CV40 carb on my '01 Fatboy with the Mikuni. The Mikuni is a nice improvement over the stock CV carb. Performance improved (I have a V&H 2-1 Propipe and Stage 1 backplate and air filter). The Mikuni is easier to adjust and, if necessary, re-jet. Throttle response is sharper because of the Mikuni slide design. Also, it was easy to swap out because it uses the stock throttle cables (the reason I did not go with the S&S Super E). If I change the cams, jump up to 98 cubes or upgrade the heads the carb will scale well to these modifications. The Mikuni also comes with an excellent manual.

Bolted right up to my '94 Dyna Lowrider. All I had to do was set the idle.
Note that if you have stock exhaust on your bike you'll probably have to tune it a bit. It comes with a really good instruction manual for tuning and installation. It comes with some tuning items like extra jets and such. It is compatible with your stock air cleaner assembly and with some aftermarket ones.
The only problem I had was with the shipping. The seller did not inform me that the item would be sent signature required before the item shipped. I rated accordingly. They seem to not understand the problems that are caused by not knowing this information ahead of shipment. (So you can change the address to a work address for instance so you can sign for the item instead of playing tag with the shipping company or having to drive to the local hub.)

But the carburetor itself is a great upgrade to a stock CV carb. If you're tired of tuning that old CV carb that never seems quite right and are ready for something that just works, you won't be disappointed. It only takes basic mechanical skills to install and more than likely, if you ordered the correct size (there are several sizes available) you should be ready to go once you install and set your idle.

I got this carb as part of an EFI-to-Carb conversion that I am performing on my 2010 FXDWG. There's really nothing more to say. Mikuni quality is world-renowned and the performance speaks for itself. My bike will finally run at it's full potential.

Fast-forward to now, Aug 2013, and all I can say is WOW! It was MUCH easier doing this conversion that I thought it would be, and the Mikuni easily added 25% more power. My first ride on the converted bike was intense to say the least. And the best thing - I'm using the stock ignition module. I just unplugged all the stuff that came off the EFI system, and also the fuel-sending unit inside the tank, and bolted on the new intake system. It fired right up and ran great right out of the box. I only had to tweak the idle. I mounted the choke right on the carb using a bracket made for that purpose. This is the best mod I could have done to get the power and throttle response I wanted. There will be nay-sayers; people who say what I did can't be done. Don't listen to them! If you want 25% more out of your EFI Harley, do this mod. (No, I didn't dyno-run it yet.) Now I have about 1000 miles on the conversion and have had zero issues with it.

Woke the bike up. Changed jet that were included and installed, had to clearance two fins on the jugs but not a problem, can't see after installed. Would recommend to anybody wanting more out of their twin cam.

Bought this carb for my 2001 Road King. I've done business with Eastern Performance in teh past and have nothing but good things to say about them. Although the throttle cable bracket was bent on my carb when it arrived I was able to straighten it easily. I did contact EP and they gave me the option of trying to fix ot myself, or sending it back for an exchange. This carb is everything I ever heard it is! I've had modifed CV's, and S&S Super E's and this Carb surpasses both in my opinion. It is a big carb and you'll have to remove some cooling fin material from the front cylinder. If using the cruise control adapter from Rivera you'll also have to remove some material from the rear head. I also had to remove some matterial from my high-flow SE backing plate. If using on a big twin with a 5 gallon or larger gas tank I wouldn't waste money on the chrome top because you can't see it. It should also be noted that I was able to take this carb from teh box, bolt it on the bike, and never had to adjust antthing except the idle mixture and idle speed. Great Carb!!! I should have bought one years ago!!! I'll be buying one for my wifes Sporty too!!!
