Next-generation flash diffuser as advanced as today's digital cameras and TTL flash systems. Thin, flexible plastic rods are molded into a "grid" pattern. This grid creates a matrix of diffusion Conduits and Gate openings. Light which directly strikes the Conduits is omnidirectionally diffused and evenly distributed throughout the Grid Matrix, broadening the effective area of the light source to the full width of the grid. The Light Gates allow excess light to pass unobstruced, continuing on to reflect off of the ceiling and walls and back towards the subject. This combination of both diffused and reflected light results in soft, "wrap-around" transitions from light to shadow, enhanced highlight smoothness and tonality, and beautifully luminous shadows all achieved with significantly increased light efficiency over conventional flash diffusers. The BounceGrid II diffuser can be used vertically to simulate a "bare bulb" effect for soft, 360-degree room-filling illumination, or at a 45-degree angle to maximize soft, flattering subject illumination for portraits. The BounceGrid II diffuser includes a new Internal Deflector for up to 50% more frontal light output when desired. The design of the BounceGrid II also provides a built-in filter attachment system.
