Milgaro: One Of The Best Albums Ever!,
By LeRoy Walker-Sandoval "Buck" (Jerome, ID USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Milagro (Audio CD)
Wow!!!!! This is one of the most beautiful CDs I have heard in a long time! This is not your typical Latin album that you are hearing, guys. It does have the mix of Spanish guitars, dance, pop, ballads, and tons more. It is a very beautiful collection full of clean, unconditional love, plus some praise and worship of God, among other topics.
Jaci has proven herself again, with a deep maturity to her voice, with a lot of emotive versatility. The songs she picked for this particular album are all so outstanding! 1. "En El Centro De Mi Corazon": This is a great song to introduce the rest of the CD, because it starts out very soft, as an intro, and then...BANG! Jaci hits it again! 2. "No Hace Falta Un Hombre": This is the Spanish hit of her single, "I Don't Need A Man" from the movie, CHASING PAPI. This is a cool song. Jaci wrote both versions. 3. "Milagro": The title track, which is so inspiring, because it reminds me of her hit single "Llegar A Ti" (My all-time favorite song of hers)! Awesome! 4. "Un Trocito De Cielo": A good song to dance to! Good beat, great rhythm! 5. "Perdida Sin Ti": This song is cool, 'cause it has this edgy rock sound to it. 6. "Eres Tan Grande": This song is also neat, because it has sort of an R&B sound, only it has its own thing about it as well. 7. "A Un Paso De Mi Amor": I absolutely LOVE this song!! Her voice is just beautiful on it! I love singing it,'cause it gives me a feeling of knowing God's presence is truly here! The Spanish version of "Just A Prayer Away". 8. "Me Valga Dios": I love the intro music to this song. Jaci sings this song with a delightful emotion! 9. "Es Amor": I love this one as well! It's simple, but very pretty! 10. "A Tu Lado Es Mi Lugar": This is the Spanish version of Jaci's "Where I Belong" from UNSPOKEN. I really like both versions; Jaci co-wrote them as well! 11. "Mi Vida No Es Nada Sin Ti": This is a really beautiful song, co-written by another all-time fave of mine, Gloria Estefan! I believe it's the Spanish version of her hit, "Can't Stay Away From You." Great job, Jaci! Jaci, you did it again! Congrats, and may your faith in Christ remains undying all your days! Plus your music!!!

The best of Jaci's Spanish CDs,

This by far Jaci's greatest Spanish album and even compared to her english cds this is still one of my favorites.
Milagro & Jaci Velasquez (Self titled) are the best. Her CD unspoken was'nt very good, but this camp out the same year and this was really good. I hope her fall release (Of 2004) will be as good as Milagro! :D

Her Best Latin Record so far...& a some surprises,

I was concerned at how tough a job it would be for Jaci Velasquez to top her last "Mi Corazon", but this cd has some great surprises. It is clear that she has matured since her last projects: She is not only tackling important emotions but her voice at certain times has incredible bravado ("A un Paso de Tu Amor") which had yet to be experienced as passionately and outstandingly in past projects. These songs seem to showcase her vocal abilities/control better than any other...Her voice knows when to shy way and when to break through. It is evident that she has pushed her voice creatively to new limits. Only one track (Me Valga Dios) seems a bit of a mismatch (in style) but all in all the album is one of the best of the year in latin pop. She diligently makes it clear that she's many things: vulnerable, strong, questioning, assured...It is a great/brave for a Christian artist these days to express her faith and feel confident enough to reflect on and celebrate love (pure love) in parallel markets. Must listen to: BEST SURPRISE: Last Track: "Mi Vida no es Nada Sin Ti".

My review after 4 months listening...,

I bought this album on a CD spree. It was one of several CDs. Tough competition! I admit, the only songs on here that were immediately attention-getting (high-impact, fast impression) were "No Hace Falta Un Hombre" and "Es Amor." I guess one of these was a song to a Spanish drama. I usually only listen to the tracks that demand my attention per CD, over and over, and end up forgetting the others (since I have so many CDs), but I would later give the others another chance, letting the CD just play through. I don't know why they took some getting used to, but there are PLENTY of AMAZING tracks on this CD! Most people refer to songs that have a slow tempo as a ballad, but to me a ballad is a song that is not only slow, but also very subdued and quiet. These songs wouldn't fit into that category. On most of these there is a very audible chorus that sings verses throughout a song, and some were written as though they switch back and forth (between Jaci and the chorus). I've never heard pop that is this amazing. It wasn't memorable at first, but "Eres Tan Grande" was a song that you later one day recall, and you have to drop whatever it is that you are doing and give it another listen. Its "concept" finally clicks. Jaci's performance of "A Un Paso De Mi Amor" (I've seen this track on other singer's CDs) is also excellent! She has a very unique voice. Ne'er too high, but definitely with range. She sounds so different when singing low notes and high notes. The low notes have so much power, but the high notes are so soft. BTW I don't speak Spanish at all. No need, though. I love these songs. "Milagro" is also excellent. Such an inspiring sound (I don't know what she's singing about). Last but not least, "Me Valga Dios" has almost a traditional sound to it. No trumpets, but the bass line is the up-down, slow type, yet the melody is so cheerful that it becomes addictive. There are so few CDs that have so many excellent, single-caliber songs like this one!

This CD rocks! The first track is DA BOMB! It's powerful, and like she did with Como se cura, she starts off with a strong point and message, and really makes your soul feel something good. The music arrangements for it are incredible! The instrumental break is beautiful! Jaci's voice on this album makes me want to listen to her more and more and more. I may not be a Spanish major, but a friend of mine, well, he's been translating some of the songs, and I'm liking what I read and hear. Buy this CD if you love Jaci's voice, good instrumental arrangements, and Spanish.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this album.
Jaci's very, very best. I don't speak Spanish at all and I listen to this over and over and over. The only song that sticks out like a sore thumb is Track 8. Sigh. But the awesomness of the rest more than cover the lapse.

I found "Milagro" to be about what I expected: a lot like Jaci's previous two Spanish albums, "Llegar A Ti and Mi Corazon." For those who liked those albums, definitely consider adding "Milagro" to your collection. As was the case with Jaci's previous Spanish albums, "Milagro" includes a few upbeat songs, a few slower ones, and a couple of songs which I recognized to be Spanish versions of English songs which can be found on other of her records. The main drawback of "Milagro" is that the lyrics are not printed in the album's booklet. To native or otherwise fluent Spanish-speakers, that won't be a problem, but for me, having the lyrics in front of me is helpful, since my Spanish comprehension is a little slow. So I had to listen to the album a few times to understand what Jaci was singing. I was pleased, but not surprised, to find that most of her lyrics were focused on her relationship with the Lord Jesus. As far as lyrical content is concerned, I would have to say that track 7, "A Un Paso De Mi Amor", is my favorite. Regarding the sound of the music in general, my favorite is track 4, "Un Tracito De Cielo."

I know this is Jaci's homeback from a long time of not-doing-any-music, BUT... Let me fill you in with the defects:-The lyrics are very mundane: I know they were written by great writers (like Emilio Stefan, Estefano and Gloria Stefan) but it?s not the kind of love I would expect Jaci to sing. I mean, the "Take me to the sky", "All this love is making me crazy"; "You make me crazy with those kisses that take me to heaven" (in spanish it doesn?t sound that cute). It just does not sound right... maybe it?s because they went a little bit over with the love subject. -She has totally opposite ideas in the same CD: First she is sick of boys (I feel the same some days, and those days I sing along with her) but inmediately she is begging for a kiss... in the next 5 musics. Come on. -Not everything in life is love: I hate to say it, because I have a bf, but come on! More things go on in life than love, boys, kissing, blah blah blah. She can sing about friendship, dreams, achievements, working hard... just a thought -The lyrics are not included... I get annoyed every time a singer does not put the lyrics into the CD. -There is not at least one music to dance: she sings great and I love dancing and doing choreographies of her music. But this time she did not do ANYTHING to be danced. :-( sad, sad, sad. I have to give her credit for other things, though. -Beautiful voice: as always, but it?s good to know she keeps it. No way of doubting she found grace in God?s presence. An angel and much more! -Nice photos and new image: congrats on that, Jaci -Good rythm: the musics have varied ways of starting, if you know what I mean. The rythm they used for each music is good and appropiate, and new! Conclusion: I will keep loving Jaci, and buying her albums

Go Jaci this is her yet best spanish album!I love the more rock effect to it. And Just A Prayer Away in spanish sounds great. It also give \ a little more of variety in types of music. For example very good job in ES AMOR The best song in this album. And country style song Me Valga Dios Perdida Sin Ti gives it flavor. Spicy! I guess Jaci is here for a very long time to amaze us with her music. EXELLENTE JACI VELASQUEZ YOU"VE DONE IT AGAIN! |
