Although this is a very nice little book with numerous illustrations and photos of a wide variety of milagros, and it provides a very thorough history of the use of milagros in various european and latin cultures, I found it a disappointment that the author devoted no attention whatsoever to addressing the types of devotional intent or symbolism represented by the various...

This is a very informative book on Milagros. It details the history and areas of discovery. There are many pictures included of 'charms' which have been found.

Although this is a very nice little book with numerous illustrations and photos of a wide variety of milagros, and it provides a very thorough history of the use of milagros in various european and latin cultures, I found it a disappointment that the author devoted no attention whatsoever to addressing the types of devotional intent or symbolism represented by the various representations of the milagros. There are websites that define just such characteristics and I assumed a book about milagros would have to address what the depictions represent, so be aware this one does not provide that information.
