I bought this book over a month ago and dove right in. When i'd read something, i imediately put it into effect on my '96 Grand-Am. I started with the common sense stuff and my mpg kept going up. I kept a log of whatever i did one week, and the results would show up the next. I've done some low-tech stuff and i'm only 2/3 through the book. I cant wait to finish and see what the final result is.(one thing i'll share with you:use a can of Scrubbing Bubbles to clean your engine. I would get the engine hot, then drive home,lift the hood and spray away. A clean engine disburses more heat than one covered in dirt and oil.)BUY THIS BOOK!

The Gas Mileage Bible is a must for anyone who drives a car. It's easy to understand if you do not know a lot of about cars, yet it has lots of information that would even interest those weekend mechanics. The authors provide simple scientific explanations on what causes losses and gains in fuel economy. In addition, they lay out clear-cut gas-saving solutions, breaking them down into straightforward categories: "no tech", "low tech", and "high tech", which makes it easy to understand how quickly and easily you can implement each solution.

I improved the fuel economy in both trucks by at least 2 mpg without buying any upgrades or gadgets. I can't wait until I can implement some of the "high tech" solutions they talk about to further improve my fuel economy; therefore, saving me even more $$$ and further reducing my carbon footprint. Like I said, this is a must read if you drive a car - 5 stars!

After reading this, I realized what a gas hog I was! I did apply several of the techniques in this book and now have seen a 4 mpg increase in my mileage. I do have a gas hog of a car so this increase is significant for me.

I bought this based on a recommendation from a colleague at work who swore by this book. I just ordered one for each of my employees and I will probably go back and order one each for all of my family and friends come holiday time!
