I LOVE this CD. I have listened to it so often that I can hear about 10 seconds of any song and tell you exactly what it is, what was said, and what will be next. It is amazing. I could write a lovely review worthy of some highbrow, upper-crust Classical music magazine, but why do that? Simply put it's lovely---I have listened to it more times than I can count, and for me, someone who loves musicians who are both storytellers and performing artists---it means she meets all of my creative and philosophical needs.

Listening to this CD is like looking at an intricate tapestry. The layers and the depth pull you into Jen Gloeckner's world...and it is beautiful there. It takes more that one listen to hear everything going on here. It has stayed in my CD player since I got it. I'm looking forward to the next work of art.

Absolutely amazing. Her songs are gorgeous and haunting. I can't say enough about this CD! You must own it.

I ordered this CD about a year ago, it has since become one of my all time favorites. I had never heard of Jan, heard a slice of it on a network radio station, took a chance and was sooo glad I did. She weaves a magical, relaxing and catchy (this is hard to do) CD. I can only compare her to a mix of Carole King and Nora Jones but with alot of soul. Definitely take a chance on this CD you'll be glad you did.

i randomly found this cd quite a while ago while going through a random pile of cds that someone was going to dispose of, and something about it drew me to it, and i am so glad it did, because this is truly a wonderful cd.... i had never heard of her before, as im sure not many of us have, plus i have quite a talented knack of randomly finding almost virtually unknown female singers.... this woman has such a beautifully haunting, multi faceted voice that you could just listen to this cd for hours on end, and be transported to another place, and another time many times over, and not want to ever leave to where ever it may take you.... i found her webpage through my space. com, and immediatley added her to my friends list.... i love alot of the songs on this cd, but some of my ultimate favorites are the haunting "nothing personal", and "seven maids"..... i have put those two particular songs on many a mix cd, and i must say i personally love both... i also really love the free flowing, rather relaxed title song"miles away"... its such a beautiful song that always makes me wish i could be on the open road somewhere, exploring all the world has to offer... this is such a beautiful album in general, and i am so glad i gave it more than just a second glance... i am hoping someday though, that this truly talented woman will release a second album, and when she does, i know for sure i will buy it, and hope it is as good as her debut... i do agree with another previous reviewer that this woman should deffintiley be given more credit and much more recognition.... i highly reccomend this beautiful cd for anyone who likes mellow, relaxing female singers...... you wont be dissapointed......

I kept hearing this CD on Accuradio at work. Everytime I heard her sing, I gazed up from my work to see who the hell was singing. After doing this 15 times, I broke down and brought the CD. Every single song is beautiful. I am shocked that she is not famous winning grammies. This CD is so beautiful I am contemplating buying it for X-mas gifts for all my friends.
