Surprisingly Good,
This review is from: Miles to Go (Hardcover)
For all the flack and negative press that Miley Cyrus gets, you'd never think that anything she could write would be worthwhile. But it is.
Let's face it, average 16 year olds are boring. Most of them haven't had enough interesting things happen to them that they could fill 250+ pages. But nothing about Miley Cyrus is average. In this heartwarming book Miley talks about many of the trials and tribulations that made her the person she is today. Some of the topics she writes about include: her family, her grandfather and the inspiration he was to her, dealing with being bullied in sixth grade, the struggle it took to get the part of Hannah Montana, touring, writing music, losing a friend, dealing with low self esteem, an illness, a certain Jonas Brother, the struggle to become friends with a cast mate, and much more. Overall, it's a very good book, and definitely worth your time. A must read for all MIley fans.

An inspiring young lady,

For those of you who want to bash Miley because her life has been "perfect" and you think fame and fortune have been handed her on a silver platter, I suggest you read this book. For those of you who think it's only a matter of time until Miley falls off the deep end like all the other teen stars, I suggest you also read this book.
Miley's self-told story is both moving and enlightening. She becomes very vulnerable to her readers, telling us of her struggles and her victories. She is very open about her faith, her family and her convictions. She does not shy away from using Bible verses and expressing her views on morality and Hollywood culture. If you have a tween/teen daughter this is a GREAT book for them to read. If Miley can stand by what she believes then so can they.

Give this book to your daughter,
This review is from: Miles to Go (Hardcover)
My daughter is a BIG fan of Miley so I bought the book for her, but little did I know how much I wanted her to read this.
When we read about the three bully girls standing over Miley in the lunch room and how she got through it, it was what I would teach my child to do...and I can relate. Then when we read page 46 and how she looked to Psalm 25 from the bible for help I teared up, it was so beautiful. I also love the bond she has with her parents, help us hold on to our children. Thank you Miley, for giving this book to our daughters.

It's Good!,

Well...I've gotta say this book is good. I really appreciate her honesty and openness and think teens will be able to relate. I especially liked her openness about the bullying she experienced, as that's a topic I deal with often with teen girls, and thik it will be extremely helpful to them to know that it's not their fault and they are not alone. Good job, Miley!!

parent's point of view,
This review is from: Miles to Go (Hardcover)
When this book first came out, I was really disappointed in some people because they gave this book a negative rating just because it was another Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus story. I mean, come on, when my kids were little, I got tired of Power Rangers, Dora, and Blues Clues; but I would never try to degrade them! I read this book because, like many other kids, my daughter loves Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and I felt that as a parent I need to know about anyone my child is going to look up to. I got to say, I was very impressed with what I read. I even went back to read it again with my daughter who is 7. This book is an easy read. Even when things were not going the way this young star wanted, she is able to express her situation and in then end give a strong positive word on what she learned or gained from the situation. She also adds little hand written comments on some pages that really keeps a young reader interested. As a Christian mom, I was VERY impressed by her faith. Throughout the book she shows the Bible verses that helped her through her her life so far. And I am not just talking about references, she has the whole verse there. Just think of how many young ones are going to read this book and get a Seed planted! Praise God! I could go on an on about how impressed I was about this book, but you should read it yourself. MILEY CYRUS IF YOU HAPPEN TO READ THIS......MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU and GREAT JOB!!!

There is a lot of negativity towards Miley and many laught at the idea of a biography by a 16 year old. However if they read the book they should humble down. I don't think the 1-star reviewers read it. For one thing, it is not a biography. It is a memoir of the early life of a rising star and teen idol. It's not something you get to read about a lot and this makes it interesting. The book is also very nicely written, Miley has some talent or had really good help. The book also contains some "shocking" facts the the tabloids debated about, but never knew quite the truth, so it will be a very interesting read for your Miley-loving child. It would be good for adults who think Miley is a bad role model, to read it too. My daughter loves this book and I as a sociologist also spared an hour to read it and found it quite an interesting account of a life, most of us never know.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Miles to Go (Hardcover)
Hopefully this book will stop all of the criticism that Miley is getting. This is written straight from Miley, so we know it's the truth. I learned so much about Miley, that I never thought that I would know. I just couldn't put her book down, it was so good. I recommend this book to anybody not just Miley fans. It is the story of one amazing girl who has been through so much.

A new look at a renowned star,
By kellie (perth australia) - See all my reviews

So for the last three months my sister has been saving up for this book. She has recently gone on a Miley binge and has bought all the DVD's, CD's, merchandise- you name it she has it. She saw the movie alone five times. Now in the past, I have given her things not really knowing what they are about or what's on them, only to find that they really aren't appropriate for her particular age group. So that factor, added in with just plain old curiosity, made me read this book.
Miley cops a lot of flack from what I can tell for being a tween star and Hannah Montana and we only ever hear what the media wants to tell us, so Miles to Go is literally Miley telling her side of the story. It covers all things that 16 year olds go through...and all things that they don't. She discusses her auditions, her first boyfriend, her music, her acting, her family, bullying, her faith etc and shows in my opinion a lot of courage and a lack of regret for things that can't be changed. It is definately a very easy book to read- she writes like I imagine she talks- very conversational and to be honest, interesting. It's not everyday that you get to see into the life of a world renowned celebrity- one who isn't afraid to tell it like it is and stand up for who she is and what she believes in. She has a very relaxed and humorous approach to life- I particularly liked her title- nice pun. I also appreciated how she wasn't afraid to talk about her private life or what happens when she writes a song, how she feels- how sometimes she really doesn't want to go to another concert. But she does. And I respect her for that. I respect her for the life she leads- yeah, she chose it, but that doesn't mean that her experiences or thoughts are any less significant than anyone else's. I respect her more now that I have read her biography than I did when she was just my sister's pin-up. She is a good role model for young girls the world over and I wish her all the best in life. Oh, and for those that are wondering: my sister got it last night and finished it this morning. Of course. :) 4 stars.

Not a fan of Miley but loved the book :),
This review is from: Miles to Go (Hardcover)
This book, "Miles to go" by Miley Cyrus was a fun read for me. I'm not a fan of Miley, but I like to read books about celebrities (some of them) and I love this book. I got it at K-mart for the retail price $24 bucks, but it was well worth it. The book is so inspiring, motivating and refreshingly new. Thanks to a review here, I now gotta remind myself not to believe all that you read. So that being said, I now kinda doubt it to be true what Miley says in this book (some of it), BUT I still do love the book. It's a very good read. Of course, this is just MY opinion. :)
