4.0 out of 5 stars Great international Hip Hop, February 26, 1999

DJ Krush's Milight is a wonderful hip hop recording. While there is fantastic MC work done in both English and Japanese, the focus of this album is still those amazing beats. DJ Krush seems to possess a talent in Hip Hop that I don't think I hear out of many DJ's. Not only does he have one great beat, but an arsenal of many. He likes to mix a little jazz in there too. If you like him check out DJ CAM and DJ FOOD, two of my other favorite hip hop DJ's.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, August 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Milight (Audio CD)
This is another untouchable album from Krush. This time he has a lot more rapping. However, the beats are still the best part of the album. Throughout the record he succeeds in creating a thoroughly apocalyptic atmosphere, with most of his guests getting prophetic about the future. There seems to be an abundance of collaborations on here, the best being the Mos Def and DJ Cam tracks. But, all in all, Krush is still dropping his own unique style of raw hip-hop inyour face. Sure to be a classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars krush cuts it up, July 30, 2000

I own two dj krush albums, Milight and Kakusei, both excellent pieces of instrumental hip-hop. But for sheer pleasure you can't beat the experience of his turntable skills in front of a live audience. I checked him out last year in a small club in Copenhagen and his performance was intense. Also his attitude towards the crowd was a sight to behold. He came on to the stage without a word and started spinning and left an hour and a half later bowing to show us his respect! If you ever get the chance to see Nippon's premier dj (along with Honda) be theeere!

5.0 out of 5 stars sick dj, December 30, 2011

this is one of darker and gloomier albums from Dj Krush, i liked it equally with the Krush album (1995)...there are few cool collaborations, particularly with Tragedy Khadafi and Mos Def...be sure to pick it up if you like trip hop beats along with some dope rappers to it

5.0 out of 5 stars Great trip-hop album!, February 6, 2010
This review is from: Milight (Audio CD)
Milight is a wonderful album for trip-hop enthusiasts. DJ Krush has a great way of mixing minimal sound effects for maximum impact. The bass and sound mixing in this album is nearly flawless and has the best audio mix and sound of any of his albums to date. My favorite track is "Jugoya" which means literally the 15th night, marks the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (which is usually mid or late September for our calendar) and is a deep and resonent sounding instrumental. The instrumental pieces are quite good but I find his collaborations with American Rappers to be mundane as the rappers lyrics are mediocre at best. Overall this is a great Trip-Hop Album.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best DJ Krush album, February 25, 2008
This review is from: Milight (Audio CD)
Millight is the best Krush album out there. It has the perfect balance of ambient and hip hop. Perfect production and it's quite lengthly. The speeches in between each track from the collaborating artist in my opinion add to the international flavor of the album. Minimalist at its' finest.

Impressive. Standout tracks are Le Temps, Skin Against Skin, Jikan No Hashi 2, and Jugoya. Don't be fooled though, the rest is fantastic.

Highly recommended.
