Originally created in Mid-1800s (19th Century) by Currier & Ives, this decorative print was reproduced by permission in 1952 in a commemorative book from which it was extracted. It is a high quality print in excellent condition, perfectly suitable for framing - a wonderful alternative to expensive originals and looks great when framed! It is NOT a modern reproduction of the book print/plate. The image measures 13.5" x 9" and the overall page size is 15" x 11". The backside of this print is blank. It is in excellent vintage condition with no stains, rips or tears. The Wayside Inn is a historic landmark in Sudbury, Massachusetts, which opened in 1716 under the name of "Howe's Tavern" and still remains in business today. It is now the oldest operating inn in America, made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow when he visited Wayside Inn in 1862 and published his 1863 book of poems, "Tales of a Wayside Inn". Henry Ford was the last private owner of the property.
