They're about the same in terms of thickness.
Therefore, they are not too warm for severe weather, but solid enough for NY "harsh" weather.
As far as the length and color go, it's perfect. Dark Grey/Charcoal goes with anything and as someone 6'1", they hit my knees.
I was all excited to get some "oversized" socks since I am a size 12 and these are for 13+ shoe.
I was convinced I couldn't go wrong with these. These are SMALLER than average "up to size 11" socks.
Boy was I wrong taking a chance with these. And they are not "military" heavy style. Just average wool poly socks.
