This review is from: A Military Pilot's Exciting Life and Visit from the Hereafter (Hardcover)
I first met Ken in 1952 when we were Air Force ROTC professors at Washburn University in Topeka. We spent many weekends flying out of Forbes Air Force Base. He was an excellent pilot, we took turns flying left seat and I never felt uncomfortable when I was his co pilot. He was fortunate to survive his combat experience, the B-17F model had no nose turret for protection from the head on attacks by the Luftwaffe fighters. I was proud to pin his majors leaves when he was promoted. Too late to be included in his book was a 8 x 10 photo of that event. I mailed it to him and I know he treasured that photo. We got back in touch in 2008 and communicated until his death in 2011. Hugh McBride |
