This book was a bit of a disappointment. For starters it is very small - I thought it was a coffee table sized book but it was about a 1/3 the size I expected. There is a lot of detailed technical drawings of various war era rifles but no color photographs. There are no machine machine guns mentioned - only semi auto and bolt action rifles (I am not a war weapons expert but apparently machine guns are not considered rifles). All in all for the price ($26) I expected more for my money.

This book is a good general source of information. It gives descitions and photographs in sufficient detail for most collectors. It would serve as a good starter point for the more serious student/collector.

I liked this book and am pleased with my purchase. The historys and schematics were about 98% correct, with very few errors. I would advise others to purchase this book.

A surprising amount of information in a small book. The sections on the history of the Mauser company alone were worth the price of admission.

Again Mr. Walters has done the collector and history buff a valuable service.
A rather large list from various countries with more thana generic paragraph althoguh not a full all inclusive text book history on each either.
Every collector as such should have a copy. Great gift idea for any new collector or History mined indivdual.
