4.0 out of 5 stars Short, but to the point.
A very nice overview of the military sniper and sniping's role in battle, from World War One (with a quick discursion on pre-WWI sniping) to the present day.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars Military Sniping
The author has a long standing interest in sniping and snipers and has written extensively about the subject in other books. This book is more of an overview of military sniping rather than an indepth examination. That said, it is reasonably comprehensive and the artwork is interesting with a full explanation of each illustration detailing the equipment and the conflict...

The author has a long standing interest in sniping and snipers and has written extensively about the subject in other books. This book is more of an overview of military sniping rather than an indepth examination. That said, it is reasonably comprehensive and the artwork is interesting with a full explanation of each illustration detailing the equipment and the conflict it depicts. If you are looking for a major in-depth look at military sniping there are better books, however, for an understanding of the subject this book is a good primer.
