Military Wives 101 is a provocative and inspiring novel about Tayler and Sandy, two women who marry uncharacteristically into the military lifestyle. Although Sandy currently has no male suitors, Tayler has a tentative proposal from Carl, an Army soldier with whom she had a one-night stand, two years ago. Ironically, Sandy's promiscuity introduces Tayler to Carl, and her selfishness tries to keep them apart. Fed up with Sandy's childish behavior, Tayler cuts Sandy off from their one-way friendship, and vows to accomplish her future dreams without her. Sandy is disturbed by this, and impulsively makes some choices that she soon regrets.Eventually, Sandy and Tayler both travel down similar paths that lead them in different directions. Even though the two women longed for marriage and commitment, they never dreamed that it would happen in such an unconventional manner. They are both inadequately prepared for the cross-country relocations, low pay, marital stress, and the explicit, unavoidable, DRAMA! Soon, they are both reaping the consequences of their impetuous past decisions. It does not take either of them long to realize that, even though they both hold graduate degrees, the one class they must struggle to pass is Military Wives 101.

About the Author
Tynisa Gaines has been a military spouse for nearly four years. In the past four years, she has lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, northern Virginia, and northern California. Prior to writing this novel, she worked for the Department of Army for nearly two years as an independent contractor. She is also a Certified Instructor for Army Family Team Building and currently volunteers to teach classes to military family members. In short, she has experience with a nearly every aspect of military family readiness from relocation to anti-terrorism. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology, from the University of Illinois and a Master of Public Administration in Public Personnel Management, from Troy State University.

I was very frustrated with all the reviews I read about this book because they all gave the indication that it would be an excellent book. In fact, the book was probably the worst I have ever read. I honestly couldn't even get to the plot because the grammar and punctuation were so bad. There is a typo on the acknowledgement page, where the author dedicates the book to her "ion-laws" instead of her "in-laws." On the first page of the book, the author switches from writing in past tense to present tense and back again. The thing that really blew me away was that in the author bio, it says that she has her Masters Degree!!! Besides the grammar, all I really felt this book showed me about military life (and I am an army wife myself!) was that everyone sleeps around and has really screwed up lives. Not really much of an insight to someone wanting to learn more about military life. I highly DO NOT recommend buying (or even reading) this book.
