IN A NUTSHELL: VERY SAFE BUT THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS COME ONLY FROM STD. DOSE

The current scientific literature shows that Milk Thistle, standardized to 80% "Silymarin", in doses of about 600 mg. per day offer therapeutic benefits in the maintenance of a healthy liver.

Specifically, clinical research has shown that; Alcohol-related liver disease, Hepatitis, Liver cirrhosis and Gallstones are conditions that standardized Milk Thistle has been shown to improve over a period of at least 8-12 weeks of continued use.

CAUTION:

Bear in mind that some of the above conditions are potentially fatal, and all are serious. Therefore, the care of a qualified physician is necessary, and the use of any product should NOT be considered to be an adequate self-treatment as a cure or preventative.

HAVING SAID THAT:

Standardized Milk Thistle, such as the product being offered here, is very beneficial to people who take presciptions drugs, are exposed to environmental toxins or that have concerns about the health of their Liver. Fortunately, Milk thistle is among the safest herbs one can consume, but standardization for Silymarin is essential if a therapeutic effect is desired.

ABOUT BRANDS:

Yes, of course I think "Nature's Way" is tops and "Now" is excellent, but this "Swanson Superior Herbs" product is the one on my shelf. Honestly, for me, this is a matter of cost, and the Swanson product costs less than half as much as the Nature's Way product. Occasionally, Swanson runs buy 1 & get 1 free promos for this specific product. That is when I get mine, generally I buy 3 and get 3 free.

WHY & HOW TO TAKE MILK THISTLE:

I take 3-4 capsules per day, on an empty stomach. I take Milk thistle because I take a large number of prescription medicines, and have for over twenty years. Naturally, I wish to help keep my Liver healthy, and this is one way I believe that I can. I do my own research and my only motivation is the continued health of my family and myself.

I read an article that Milk Thistle was good to take for diabetics so I thought I would try it. Since I started taking it my blood sugar levels have lowered by about 20 pts. so far. Further, I have finally gotten a handle on my blood sugar levels. They are not so up-and-down, more steady now. My doctor will be so pleased!

I recently had to take a lot of prescribed pain medication and because of that knew I had to get some Milk Thistle to clean my liver of this pharmaceutical build-up. I bought 4 bottles of the Swanson Superior Herbs Milk Thistle because it is made up of 80% Standardized Silymarin, which is a must for the Milk Thistle to work and the cost was so affordable.

I couldn't be more pleased.
