5.0 out of 5 stars A must for new moms
As a new mom of an infant, it can be challenging to produce enough milk in those first few weeks as you're getting the whole breastfeeding thing down. This certainly helps save every little drop of the white gold for your precious little peanut! I found it not only a morale builder, but also made me feel "thrifty". I wish I'd had this when I was in the hospital, right...

3.0 out of 5 stars Its ok
This is an ok product. I'm a petite person and the milk saver is kind of large for me. Not easy for me to insert in my nursing tank or bra, especially while holding a hungry, crying newborn! Also, like a previous reviewer mentioned, if you bend over at all while wearing it, the milk will spill out.

As a new mom of an infant, it can be challenging to produce enough milk in those first few weeks as you're getting the whole breastfeeding thing down. This certainly helps save every little drop of the white gold for your precious little peanut! I found it not only a morale builder, but also made me feel "thrifty". I wish I'd had this when I was in the hospital, right after delivery. Sure, you can hold an empty bottle up to the non-nursing breast and accomplish the same thing, but common, who has enough hands to do all that and hold the baby while feeding? This thing is a pretty slick item, made out of a nice silicone type substance (sort of like a bottle nipple) so it is comfortable enough. Only down side is the packaging which I'd day is a big waste. Who needs a really nice hard case (good for only this product) for carrying the thing around? I'd prefer they'd save me a couple bucks and skip that part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every breastfeeding mom needs this product, February 12, 2010
This review is from: Milkies Milk-Saver Breast Milk Collector Storage BPA Free (Baby Product)
This is a great product. It catches the milk from your unused breast that otherwise would have been wasted. For the breastfeeding mom who leaves her baby only occasionally, this product would easily collect enough milk without having to pump at all. For the breastfeeding mom who needs to pump in order to return to work, this supplements the pumping. Best of all, there is virtually no effort involved in collecting the milk - you just put the milk collector on the unused breast during nursing.

I consider myself to have a pretty normal milk supply, and by just using the product during normal home feedings, I'm getting a two ounce bottle every day. It's great to have extra bottles on hand so that if I need to leave the baby with my husband or a sitter, I don't have to worry about pumping every day.

This product will pay for itself within a few weeks of use, given all the milk that would have otherwise been wasted.

Product is great. Concept & use are so simple - its incredible no one thought of this before & also incredible that this isn't readily available in BabiesRUs, Target, etc. I personally like the case as it keeps the Saver clean & also serves as a stand. At 1st I thought the open top design seemed silly since it is prone to spills but now I realize it was done that way so you can easily attach storage bags which is great. So I'm happy to make that trade off. This is quickly making my list of products that I consider must-haves & will gave as a Shower gift to my girlfriends.

4.0 out of 5 stars saved my life!, March 1, 2010

At one point I had low milk supply so I use to catch the milk from the nursing side with a regular bottle so the milk saver totally saved me a hand and made my life less frustrating. I also got to save up lots of milk! I reccommend this item to any breast feeding mother who needs to save milk to go back to work and school! Only problem is that it is REALLY big and very noticable! but otherwise amazing!

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful but kinda bulky, June 12, 2010
This review is from: Milkies Milk-Saver Breast Milk Collector Storage BPA Free (Baby Product)
I think they will be overall helpful. The milk doesn't collect in a space that is like a soft plastic storage bag that's capped while liquid is in it, it's a container -so it's open to leak out. It's more of a harder plastic (not uncomfortable to wear.) I had the idea that i could move around a do things while wearing them, almost like a nursing pad that would collect, but if i move around while wearing these, they are sure to leak. There really isn't a need for so much extra plastic around the storage bags and then the containers are pretty big, but I like the idea that it will stand on there own inside the container after the milk has collected. With all that said, I am not returning them, I believe they will be very helpful and cut down on disposable pad usage, just have some minor design flaws.

5.0 out of 5 stars Was a Skeptic! But worth the money!, May 24, 2010

This review is from: Milkies Milk-Saver Breast Milk Collector Storage BPA Free (Baby Product)
Ok, I bought this thing thinking that either I wouldn't produce as much 'leakage' as they say (avg is 1-4 ounces) or that it wouldn't work properly. It's bigger than I anticipated but well made. Not something you could wear around under your bra, but totally ok while nursing. I was shocked at how much milk I was wasting without this thing! I wish I had had it since my daughter was born, I could have really saved lots more milk. Personally, I 'm able to collect about 1 ounce per feeding....but over the course of the day, that is 4 ounces that I would have thrown in the garbage, soaked up in a nursing pad. It's kinda fun to see how much I have collected each time after a feeding....maybe I'm a dork....LOL. This will not work in sidelying of course, since the top is open. You also have to be careful not to forget and bend over while wearing or the milk will spill out (yes, I did it). This is common sense, not necessarily a design flaw. It seems expensive but it is made of thick, substantial plastic and comes with a hard case. If you leak at all and need to save as much milk as possible, don't mind the effort involved in remembering to use and using your milkies, I don't think you will be disappointed in this product! I am a converted skeptic! So much that I wrote my first review!

4.0 out of 5 stars design could be smaller but works great!, February 22, 2010

I used it for the first time today and saved 1 ounce from dripping while I nursed on the other breast! It is a little bulky. I think the design could have been smaller but it gets the job done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice to have, August 29, 2009
This review is from: Milkies Milk-Saver Breast Milk Collector Storage BPA Free (Baby Product)
This is great if you really want to save as much milk as you can. When I first started using the MilkSaver, I collected as much as 1.5oz per feeding that would have otherwise been lost. As months passed, I collected less and less, but was still grateful to have the milk saver in the beginning.

I don't remember seeing if the product is BPA free-something you may want to look into before purchasing.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK - but I dont use it consistently, April 13, 2011

Since I breastfeed lying down -- I cant wear this all the time. Also, the times I did use it, I sometimes forgot and leaned over, spilling breastmilk on my shirt and the floor. It's a great concept, but needs a cap to keep it from spilling.
