4.0 out of 5 stars Original Milkshake still the best!
I love Milkshake, but the remixes excluding number 2 are just okay. Number 2 is actually pretty good. Instead of buying the single, but her cd, Tasty, now that will fill satisfy your appetite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Milkshake, August 3, 2005

Hilariously cheesy, but that's what makes it so good. "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.." Laugh out loud funny but a good song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unreleased Trecks!, February 3, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Milkshake (Audio CD)
Number one, "Tasty" is one of the best I've heard since "Kaleidoscope". Tasty is a wonderful breath of fresh air. The one thing that upset me about "Tasty" was she didn't release the original c.d. The original track listings for "Tasty" were:
01. Milkshake
02. Trick Me
03. Freak Me Slow
04. Guilty Girl
05. Glow
06. Harlem Streets
07. Rollin' Through the Hood
08. Everyday Story
09. Keep It Down
10. Marathon
11. In Public
12. Running Mate
13. Suga Honey Ice T
14. Stick Up

There are five songs missing and plus, she put "Flashback" on Tasty which was on her Europe alubm, Wanderland. I heard Freak Me Slow on her website "Ultimatekelis.com" and fell in love with it. A friend of mine found the song for me on the internet. I hope she releases the other five songs!!!!! Kelis has been a true artist since she first came out.

5.0 out of 5 stars used to be my favourite song, July 23, 2005
A Kid's Review

When I first heard this song on much video dance I had to download it right away, cuz it sounded amazing. I downloaded the instrumental and I just went nuts! The music was so hardcore. I have new favourite songs now. I might have overplayed that one, but...oh well. Eventually I bought the whole album.

5.0 out of 5 stars I dont care if it's x rated or not, I LOVE THIS SONG, April 14, 2004

I dont care if its x rated or not, I love this song, I play it over and over, I mean the lyrics are catchy. My Milkshake Brings All The Boys To The Yard and There Like It's Better Than Yours Damn Right It's Better Than Yours I Can Teach You But I Have To Charge. At least in the music video she has her fiance Nas who is also a famous rapper in it. He's the guy that is ringing the bell at the resturant. CHECK IT OUT ON www.LAUNCH.com

3.0 out of 5 stars My milkshake! yum! yum!, March 17, 2004
This review is from: Milkshake (Audio CD)
Kelis redeemed herself as a sultry and naughty diva from somewhere! The video for this single is a far cry from others' she's made, and a much "teasy" video for a first single set the pattern for Kelis' album contents. "Milkshake" is not your ordinary R&B, if Beyonce got famous for positive lyrics, Kelis laid in a pool of seductive and semi explicit jargons. This single is set to fire up 2004 as expected because of the dark beats and the whole interpretation but I suspect the second single would suffer if she could not cement an image fit for her, as an entertainer in the public eye. Let's see if Kelis would clamour longevity.

4.0 out of 5 stars She Brought Me To The Yard!, March 14, 2004
This review is from: Milkshake (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite songs of 2003. The song is kinda weird at first, but soon the catchy beats and funny lyrics grab ahold of you. Although radio overplayed it a bit, this song still is extremely catchy. I had the opportunity to see the shake in real life, and let me tell you: it was good! But this single will have to do for all of you who haven't see Kelis in person. The remixes are okay, not the best I've heard. But they are still pretty catchy! ENJOY!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars hot...then the lyrics broke in, February 2, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Milkshake (Audio CD)
This is the lead single for the new Kelis album, and it doesn't bode well for the rest of the CD. Written by the Neptune's, "Milkshake" comes off as less of some kind of street-front tease to the guys than a taunt to other girls - as in "it's MY Milkshake that brings 'em out". The beat mixes north African drums with Turkish finger-cymbals, and it all sounds oriental-sexy until the lead vocal comes in. I can just imagine the video - doubtless full of men whose mouths water at the thought of one of Kellis's unique desserts. It;s almost like you have to regret how much sexier the beat is than the song that exploits it. Less crafted than produced, this single comes packaged like a real milkshake, with 5 versions (radio, house, more techno, and heavy rap) "guaranteed" to suit the flavor preferences of any would-be fan. It's supposed to get you moving, but what can you say about a single that loses its allure once the lead vocal cuts in?
