About the Author
Born in Winona, Minn., 1944. Grew up in New Ulm, Minn., and graduated from Cathedral High School there in 1962. B. A. in English, St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn., 1966. Schoolteacher parents built small summer fishing resort on north shore of Lake Mille Lacs in 1953. The author wound up guiding fishermen for 32 summer seasons, from 1958 through 1989. Went on to publish Mille Lacs Fishing Digest. Authored the popular Classic Minnesota Fishing Stories (Minneapolis: Waldman House Press, 1982). Local history buff, outdoor columnist, and writer.
