Avoid if you prefer hard sci-fi,

I was forewarned when I read the editors preface comment that he prefers to read science fiction for which you do not need a science education to understand the story, and my foreboding was borne out when I read the first couple of stories. Avoid if you like hard science fiction, buy a Stephen Baxter novel instead
