4.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection of Music, August 9, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
This CD really has Marshall Tucker's greatest hits-all of them.
The only negative thing about it is it is not digitally remastered.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Marshall Tucker Bargain, June 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
Don't know what the problem is with the people licensing Marshall Tucker. Seems like they either put together a great song list, but then use a bunch of 45 single versions of the songs or the double anthology lacks songs that were hits. Now, I'm talking here the best true years with the Caldwell Brothers From 1974-1978 The Capricorn Label Years, NOT the Warner years or after the Brothers passing.
That said this Two Cd German Import set gets it right better than the Capricorn anthology album, for one it has the full length versions of the songs plus the remaining Capricorn years hit "Dream Lover". Now compare the price which is about half of what the antholgy sells for. Only minor complaint is they used the "live Version" of Ramblin', but it's still a great cut, so for the money & the full length versions, this CD is My recommendation. It's a Real Bargain & close to perfect as to what's out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars German Import at a great price., March 20, 2006

This review is from: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
Two discs filled with 129+ minutes of early MTB treasures at a bargain price (under $20). As has already been stated by another reviewer, the discs come in a standard width jewel case that does not secure the discs very well so be careful when you open it. Disc one of my copy is firmly secured but disc two is not as all of the plastic teeth were broken off upon arrival. The booklet provides a short write-up about the band but no real information about the songs selected for this compilation. Perhaps that is for the best as the song listing on the back has the composer listed as "Unknown" on 15 of the 24 tunes. Other than these minor complaints, this product is a winner.

The song selection is limited to the first seven albums (The Capricorn Years) and is as follows:

CD 1: (1) Heard It in a Love Song - (2) Fire on the Mountain - (3) This Ol' Cowboy - (4) Can't You See - (5) Dream Lover - (6) Long Hard Ride - (7) Blue Ridge Mountain Sky - (8) Desert Skies* - (9) Everybody Needs Somebody - (10) Fly Like An Eagle - (11) How Can I Slow Down - (12) I Should Have Never Started Loving You - (13) Take The Highway - (14) Where A Country Boy Belongs Total Time: 68:49
CD2: (1) Searchin' For A Rainbow - (2) A New Life - (3) You Don't Live Forever - (4) Life In A Song* - (5) Never Trust A Stranger - (6) Love Is A Mystery - (7) Southern Woman - (8) Virginia - (9) Ramblin' (Live) - (10) Everyday (I Have The Blues) (Live) Total Time: 60:52
* Song titles mislabeled as "Desert Sky" and "Life Is A Song" respectively.

Overall, this compilation hits the spot. Better documentation would make it the ideal introduction to the music of MTB for the budget minded collector but, for the price, you can't really complain.
