The Best Band Ever Assembled In The World, September 13, 2000
This review is from: Millennium Concert [VHS] (VHS Tape)
E,W & F were huge in Africa during the '80's. We pretty much worshipped them. I came to America in 1988 and my first concert here was ... you guessed it, E,W& F, live at Irvine Meadows. It was a religious experience for me. I was crying, singing, laughing, all at the same time. This was the BEST concert I have ever been to. Maurice was still touring. The special effects were astounding. I have seen almost everybody live by now, and I still contend that E,W&F (up to Maurice's departure) had the GREATEST LIVE SHOW EVER. Needless to say, I have all their albums and have seen E,W&F 'Lite'(after Maurice) five times. Now I'm buying live concert video tapes and DVDs. Greatness has to end sometime, and seeing Maurice for the first time during the 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Awards, in a compromised condition (Parkinsons) reminded me of the greatness that was. Daniel Wilson, San Gabriel

Maurice's last live video?, March 27, 2000
This review is from: Millennium Concert [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Earth Wind and Fire have been my favorite band since 1973, the first time I heard "Keep Your Head To The Sky". I have seen them live many times and try to make sure I own everything they do on audio and video. Until now my favorite video was the MTV concert they filmed in Oakland, CA in 1980. Though I still love that concert, this tape is on the same level. The video and the audio are superb. The energy is unbelievable. I hope I see the day that this concert is released on DVD. If you saw the 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show, you know that Maurice is suffering from Parkensons disease. Other than his appearance on the Hall of Fame show, this is the most recent video I have seen of him singing. A MUST HAVE!
