An extremely important book,
By Jo Dempsey "(my *real* middle name)" (Hawthorne, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Millennium Dawn: The Philosophy of Planetary Crisis and Human Liberation, pbk (Paperback)
I read this book almost a year ago, and am very sorry I'm only now writing this review. While I did skip over a short section on spirituality, finding that section too dry, I have probably gone over the other 75% of this book with a fine tooth comb. I believe some day it will be recognized for the significant work that it is. Glen Martin puts together his extensive knowledge of philosophy, spirituality and the major players thereof. He critiques and quotes extensively; it is an education in itself. As a student of Jiddu Krishnamurti, I particularly valued his critique of this author.
If I was to ask the author any question, it would be his ideas on how to manifest this consciousness immediately and with small groups.... and in America. He would probably answer that the consciousness isn't here in sufficient quantity, and he might be right. While I understand his perspective on a more global perspective, I still think it has to be done with small groups as well. My proposal for such a plan can be seen on my website called cooperative-community (dot) info |
