By "bp1994" (Weslaco, Texas USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Millennium Love Songs (Audio CD)
This cd is a must have for those mellow days. It is a collection one must have when in the mood to relax and reminisce. It offered a variety of original artists with their original hit "love" songs. It consisted of wonderful hits from the past (80's) to the near recent past (90's). Take my word for it, you will love it.

Concept: Love,

Sometimes, when it comes to compilation records, they really seem to be only with thhe hits and the misses. In these cases, it is probably a reason why they do so terrible with their sales. Still, it takes more than that inorder to make it big these days. It also has to come from the soul as well. When it comes from love songs, it has to come from the soul and the sttle in the process. Still, I just do ever think there will ever be the perfect love song collection. With the New Millennium Love Songs album Rhino issued in 2001, it compiles several hit songs from the 70's, 80's, and mid 90's onto a collection of music. The songs range very broadly from R&B, to Rock and Pop standards. The collection includes 18 different artists and songs including Peter Cetera with Glory Of Love, and his ending time with Chicago on Hard Habit To Break. Also on this album includes Genesis with Hold On My Heart, Cyndi Lauper with her ballad Time After Time, INXS with Never Tear Us Apart, which Joe Cocker covered in 2002, and other medleys to the mix. The album also includes a couple of duets to the medley from Aaron Nevile and Linda Ronstadt with Don't Know Much, Roberta Flack & Peabo Bryson, on Tonight I Celebrate My Love, and Patti Austin and James Ingram with Baby Come To Me. As a compilation, I think it is quite alright, but a little bit on a down level. Well, all those various artists love song collections seem a bit alike to me. Still, if you want to try one and only one, I suggest you try Millennium Love Songs. It might not have what you want, but at least it is worth trying. I hope you enjoy this album.
