Book Description

July 2002
WHEN THE CLOCK STRIKES TWELVE -- One week before the end of the millennium, the microprocessors controlling America's top-secret strategic defense satellite network fail, rendering the network useless and the country vulnerable to attack. Is the Millennium Bug to blame? As experts scramble to defeat the problem, one mad genius and his small army of doomsday mercenaries set in motion a plan to use the Y2K bug to commit the crime of the millennium.

If his plan succeeds, the world's financial systems will be left in ruins. And worse, an accidental shutdown of the U.S. nuclear arsenal and nuclear reactors will unleash an ecological catastrophe of global proportions. With the seconds ticking away, Washington throws all of its resources into a desperate battle to save the country -- and the world -- from The Millennium Project.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The result of Massucci's blending imagination with the potentially devastating computer crisis is the industry's first legitimate thriller about Y2K." -- Howard Miller, Huntsville Times, Oct. 4, 1998

"Written in the technothriller genre of Michael Crichton and Tom Clancy, Joseph Massucci does an excellent job in combining New-Age literature with an action thriller." -- Ron Callari, y-two-k.com

From the Publisher

Joseph Massucci is an exciting newcomer to the genre. Filled with vivid air disasters, high-tech intrigue, and a roller-coaster race against an immutable deadline, The Millennium Project is the smart, action-thriller for the end of the millennium, sure to please readers of Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler and Ken Follett.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well crafted I look forward to more from this author, June 23, 1999

This book was well written, the story line and the characters were developed nicely. One wonders if something like this could happen, with the way computers are now so much apart of everyday life and the world preparing or not preparing for Y2K its almost frightning what could happen. Massucci has given us a very realistic story.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TRUE PAGE TUNER!!, April 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Millennium Project (Mass Market Paperback)
Joseph Massucci knows how to keep you guessing! His characters are very real, and he gives them everyday qualities -- heroes who drag themselves from bed in the morning in their underwear. The action scenes take place in that movie screen in your mind. You clearly picture members of the SWAT team making their way down Chicago's ancient, leaky water tunnel beneath Lake Michigan. And what a great villain -- Alexander Skile is a fascinating blend of greed, perversive sexual dysfunction, cold-bloodedness and an affinity for a good time. Massucci also knows how to put a twist in a story. As the tension mounted my pulse rose to the point where I thought my chest would explode. The only time I put the book down was to catch my breath. Fast paced action at it's very best!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, February 3, 1999

This review is from: The Millennium Project (Mass Market Paperback)
I just read "The Millennium Project" and thought it was great! Started reading it last night and finished at 3:00 am. I couldn't put it down. Great Plot, with all the twists and turns and equally great characters. Someone needs to make a movie about this book. Would make Rambo, Terminator 2 and the Die Hard movies look like Disney flicks. I'm recommending it to all my friends and fellow investors in Y2K stocks.
