Book Description

Miller's Guides August 28, 2006
Now that the 20th century is over, new historical perspectives are changing the value of collectables more quickly than collectors can follow. An author whose own collections exceed 20,000 glass pieces analyzes and presents over 2,000 pieces of affordable, available 20th-century glass objects in collector-friendly style, going country by country in alphabetical order. His unique timeline chart traces the century’s progression of designers such as Per Lütken, Timo Sarpaneva, Nanny Still, and Alexander Hardie Williamson, along with mass-produced works from manufacturers like Holmegaard of Denmark and Littala of Finland; plus, he offers predictions about current designers. Photos of every object are accompanied by design drawings and close-ups of original marks, including hard-to-identify and even missing markings. Value codes are provided for each item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource, May 7, 2007
This review is from: Miller's 20th-Century Glass (Miller's Guides) (Hardcover)
This is a "must have" for glass enthusiasts. It is very well researched and covers many little known glass studios and manufacturers. The value guide is also very helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a valuable book I use it almost every day, August 3, 2008
This review is from: Miller's 20th-Century Glass (Miller's Guides) (Hardcover)
Such a valuable book I use it almost every day. I use this text for my own research to show clients examples of glass work. The photographs are fantastic you can see each detail. Millar's always seem to put out a great text.

2.0 out of 5 stars Millers 20th-Century Glass, July 5, 2008
This review is from: Miller's 20th-Century Glass (Miller's Guides) (Hardcover)
This book is loaded with pretty pictures. If you buy a book about glass patterns, I would assume you are trying to identify what you have and wish to have a good reference. Instead, you get pretty pictures of glass mostly assorted by artist. This isn't helpful! If you just want to bursh up, you might like this. I'm selling this on eBay and just to get some of my money back! It's really that bad.
