Book Description

July 28, 2006
Antiques Roadshow expert John Sandon examines the many ways that porcelain can be collected: by style, decoration, maker, country of origin, object, or shape. He provides a comprehensive introduction to the invention of porcelain and its manufacture—including the factory processes—as well as details of what to look for and where to find it. Plus, Sandon uncovers fakes and reproductions so you won’t get cheated, and offers helpful tips on caring for and displaying your collection.

About the Author

John Sandon has had an interest in porcelain from an early age, inherited from his father, Henry Sandon - another prominent figure in the antique ceramics world. John went to work at Phillips in London twenty-five years ago and soon established himself as a porcelain specialist. He is now director of the international ceramics and glass departments at Bonhams. John has written a number of books on the subject, as well as articles for magazines such as BBC Homes and Antiques, and he is a contributor to the annual Miller's Antiques Price Guide. He is best known for his regular appearances as a porcelain expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Miller's Collecting Porcelain (Hardcover)
The book was advertised as in Good condition, with some wear. When it arrived, the book looked like new off the shelf - no wear on the book jacket, clean pages, etc. It's rare to get something that's better than advertised. I highly ecommend Trinity City Books.
