5.0 out of 5 stars Add flair to your garden
The best way to create a stunning garden is to add focal points in the form of statuary, urns, furniture, arbors and other ornaments and accessories. 'Garden Antiques' does a fantastic job describing the various types of garden ornaments you might consider. Miller's Garden Antiques is an interesting read and also a good picture book for those interested in creating a "look" around horticulture or just around the poolside or patio. It may be difficult for one to actually garner the prices quoted for each piece in the book (especially if one doesn't live in a market that caters to these types of antique garden pieces). I'd...

The best way to create a stunning garden is to add focal points in the form of statuary, urns, furniture, arbors and other ornaments and accessories. 'Garden Antiques' does a fantastic job describing the various types of garden ornaments you might consider. The authors give a very brief description of the history of each type of ornament, how it was used in a garden, and how to identify a good quality item. The color photos are high quality, and comments about each photos reinforces the authors' expertise.
The only slight drawback is that the prices are out of date (not surprising in a book of this type) and the sources given in the index are probably dated too. They're also mostly British (as is the book.) But if you want to create an English garden, you must read this book.

I'd like to say that there are better garden antique books available; yet, in reality, there is something to be derived from all of this type of book. Not a lot of hard information but an interesting picture book.
