From the Inside Flap

(back cover)
Millicent has ALWAYS wanted a cat. So one day, when a large wooden box labeled
M ...ee ...r ... ka ...t
lands THUMP! in her back yard, Millicent couldn't be happier.

"Yippee! You're a cat and your name is Meer," she cries. "You can be MY cat!"

Millicent takes Meer indoors but before long she discovers that there's more to her new friend than meets the eye.

Fall in love with the adorable Meer in this hilarious story of friendship and family.

A box falls from the sky by Millicent containing a meerkat. Neither of them know who/what he is. They read the box he's in and assume he's a Cat named Meer & she tries to keep him as her pet cat. It's adorable.

We bought this book at the zoo after seeing the meerkats and it is a really good book. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a child that is fascinated with Meerkats. The illustrations are amazing and the text is engaging. Our daughter is 4 1/2 and likes to hear this book at least once a week.
