It's HOT!,
By
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
This book has everything you could want. If you liked The Million Dollar Divorce, you will love The Million Dollar Deception. Nate is even more devious than in the last book. Lewis, not to be out done, does more than his fair share of dirt. And if that's not enough, there is lots of intrigue, thrills and drama. Oh, how could I forget the hot sex. I couldn't put it down. I read the book in two nights. I think all readers will be shockingly pleased and surprised at the ending. I was. Get ready to live in a state of anticipation until the final installment is published. I can't wait.

Deception,
By Tangerine (IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
Its 4 years later and drop dead gorgeous entrepreneur Nate Kenny is back again being devious and conniving then ever before, thinking anyone can be bought with a price. Monica divorced Nate and became millions of dollars richer.
Keeping it moving Monica started a new life with Lewis Waters and his baby girl Layla who she truly adores and treats her as her own. As the saying goes "it's not always greener on the other side", Monica begins to realize that she and Lewis is not compatible but gives it her all to try to make the relationship work. In the meantime she seeks advice from her good friend and co worker Tabatha, who thinks Lewis is a dead beat and is not worth a pot to piss and a window to through it out of and is only with Monica because she is financially stable. Meanwhile Nate is still at his wits end because he can't get over the fact that Monica walked away with $15 mill of his money from the divorce settlement. He comes up with the ultimate plan to bring out the worst in Lewis with the help of his Lewis's best friend Freddy and at the same time tries to get the money back in his possession, but in the process Nate begins to realize that he is still in love with her. Slowly but surely Monica is falling for Nate but is she willing to risk going back to her past and not see what her future may bring. The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel is full of action, drama, and jaw dropping intensity. This was a fabulous read that is to die for, very fast pace from beginning to the bitter end. This book will have you screaming for more. I read this book in one day and a half and it was worth it. RM Johnson is an exceptionally gifted with the pen and will go far in the literary world. Disappointed!,
By Love to Read "Book Lover" (Newark, NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
I read a "Million Dollar Divorce" and enjoyed it however, I think RM Johnson should have stopped there. This book was slow and the plot leading up to the conclusion was extremely boring! I forced myself to continue to read but it was not enjoyable. Sometimes, an author must learn to let things go with the first story. This was a waste of a sequel considering, it took so long to release since the first book. This was a big disappointment for me. It deserved a 1 but I like the author so I'm being generous! Try again RM!

He Does It Again!,
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
Well fans, RM does it again with Million Dollar Deception, his sequel to Million Dollar Divorce. I have the pleasure of owning several novels by RM Johnson and I must say, I am never disappointed. This novel is a page turner from beginning to end. Several surprises occur throughout the book. The ending was totally unexpected and left me wanting more. I strongly encourage readers to purchase Million Dollar Divorce and Million Dollar Deception, and prepare yourself to be blown away and left speechless!!

Mad!,
By
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
I read Million Dollar Deception in one in a half days. It was a page turner, one situation after the next. I really enjoyed Million Dollar Divorce and could not believe it when there was a sequel. What upset me the most is the way it ended. What will happen to the children? Will Nate and Monica survive? Will Lewis be convicted and imprisoned for a long time? How will Freddy take care of his mom? What happened to Tori and her husband? So many unanswered questions, which is the only downfall regarding this book. Now readers will probably have to wait at least a year for part three...this should have been the conclusion of the story.

A True Page-Turner That Doesn't Disappoint!,
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
It's four years later and Monica, Nate, and Lewis are all back with even more drama than before. Monica is now in a relationship with Lewis, but things aren't going as smoothly as she would have hoped. She now has to decide if she should stay with Lewis or if she should find someone who is more on her socio-economic level. Lewis is in a much better position now that he's with Monica. But he fears that their differences may cause her to leave him. Lewis makes a promise to Monica to go back to school and to start his own real estate business. But will this be enough to satisfy Monica? Nate is still reeling from the fact that Monica got a sizable settlement in their messy divorce. Nate comes up with a devious plan for revenge that may lead to more than he bargained for.
The Million Dollar Deception is an exciting sequel to The Million Dollar Divorce by RM Johnson. Johnson once again pulls readers into the twisted lives of Nate, Lewis, and Monica. Readers will find that Nate is just as vindictive and bitter as ever, trying his best to get back at Monica. You will also see the frustration of Monica as she wonders if she will have a real future with Lewis. This novel wouldn't be complete without a jaw-dropping turn of events that will leave readers begging for a third installment. The Million Dollar Deception is a true page-turner that doesn't disappoint. Reviewed by Radiah Hubbert for Urban Reviews

Money Is The Root of All Evil,
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
This book is a good read and part II of Million Dollar Divorce. It is interesting enough to keep ones attention. However, the extreme measures that were taken all for the love of money, became a bit disappointing. The story picks up with Nate seeking revenge on his former secretary for betrayal that led to him having to give his ex-wife (Monica)$15M in a divorce settlement. A divorce, that he set out to get by means that were less than honorable. He sets up a very elaborate plot for both Tori (the secretary) and Monica to gain back what he believes is his (the money). He hires a private investigator, uses people and even a child all for the sake of money. This story has many twists and turns, and in the end the ultimate revenge.
If you enjoy drama, backstabbing, denial, and would do anything for money, this is your book!

This book was tooooooo boring!,
This review is from: The Million Dollar Deception: A Novel (Hardcover)
If you read Million Dollar Divorce, this book basically repeats the same activities in that book except now they are in reverse because Nate wants Monica back as opposed to getting rid of her.
Whoever wrote that this book is "hot," obviously doesn't have high requirements for the books they read. |
