What a disappointment!,

This is a cheap made in asia transfer to DVD, certainly not worth the price. Advertised subtittles are not included.I wonder if MGM is aware of that release and if their copyrights were properly protected. I would suggest that Amazon take this item off their catalog. Conclusion: don't get fooled, don't buy!

A well deserved homage to Anette Kellerman!,

Esther Williams was lovable and irresistible in this film but if you add the presence of Busby Berkeley, the talented Mervin Le Roy, a very human and extremely imaginative Mature and the presence of that giant actor as Walter Pigdeon was, you will obtain a very worthy movie without major pretensions. The sublime sequences of the aquatic ballet and choreographic numbers are superb and belong to the cinema mythology.

It's great to be able to finally own a DVD of this picture. As it had been a while since I had watched it, I forgot that it really did not have many underwater shots (except for the tank scene) - most consisted of dives and water ballet taken from the surface. The big water-show scene the film is famous for is indeed magnificent! Way over the top- it makes an impression every time.
