5.0 out of 5 stars Could very well be SGT's best ever...remastered & revamped!
This album was an international breakthrough for the Australian-based, US-signed band, Single Gun Theory, almost a decade ago. Yet, what a stunningly fresh blend of musical worlds it presents the listener today! 3.0 out of 5 stars Splendor In The Grass
Single Gun Theory may have come out of Australia, but their sound has some basis in Indian/Pakistani Bhangra music, which was gaining some UK exposure about the time this wonderful CD was released.

This is the direction sampling should have gone: as added color to already formed songs, rather than the flat-out plagerism heard too often today.

This album was an international breakthrough for the Australian-based, US-signed band, Single Gun Theory, almost a decade ago. Yet, what a stunningly fresh blend of musical worlds it presents the listener today! Eastern percussion, funky bass lines (a la Jah Wobble), aptly chosen dialogue, richly textured keyboard, and stunning female vocals from Jacqui Hunt, combine to take you on an entirely unique and unpretentious spiritual journey. This is truly music for the mind and heart, with such standout tracks as "I Am What I See", "From A Million Miles", "Words Written Backwards" and "Surrender". There are precious few contemporary musical experiences that will enrich your life as much as this. In other words, forget Delerium, SGT is the REAL thing!

"From A Million Miles," "Words Written Backwords," and "Angels Over Teheren" are all top-flight dance hall tunes, great examples of the convergance of techno and world-music that, while never too popular in the States, controlled international music for two decades.

This album grew on me, it's now one of my favorites. Everyone I give it to, loves it, you will too. Buy it. SGT's other album <Flow, river of my soul> is also excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars unforgettable album: millions, like stars..., November 21, 2011
This review is from: Millions, Like Stars In My Hands, Daggers In My Heart, Wage War (Bonus Version) (Audio CD)
i am writing this review to balance out someone's 3 star review. They did not write a single thing negative about the album, yet only three stars? Felt I had to write a quick one to negate that a bit. I used to listen to this single gun theory album after a partner turned me on to it, but then lost my copy for years...i listen to their other one flow river of my soul, and liked it very much, just not as much as i adored this first one...finally getting it back and i cant wait...one of the most haunting albums ever.

Just the song From a Million miles is enough to purchase this CD. This song has such a wonderful sampled sound playing to beatiful lyrics with a stunning voice. The rest of the album is excellent also.
