5.0 out of 5 stars A great game for kids and adults
I work for an after school program in an elementary school and all of the kids love this game. They get frustrated if they lose too much but that goes without saying. But they learn a lot of strategies while playing, how to set it up so they win from both sides and gradually they learn to actually think of a strategy ahead of time. The Kindergarteners and 1st graders...

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars Like I remember with one issue
The only problem with this game that I've found is the release mechanism when the game is over. The coins don't drop out of the bottom as in the classic version, but rather you basically have to shake them out the side and at times wiggle them loose with your finger.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great game for kids and adults, December 13, 2009

I work for an after school program in an elementary school and all of the kids love this game. They get frustrated if they lose too much but that goes without saying. But they learn a lot of strategies while playing, how to set it up so they win from both sides and gradually they learn to actually think of a strategy ahead of time. The Kindergarteners and 1st graders aren't that great but the second through fourth graders get to be pretty good. Our program has over 40 kids and we had to get a second one because it's a favorite among them. It also comes with rules on how to play different versions which I'm not use to so don't do but it can be fun and a new craze is playing butterfly which is when they are allowed to put two pieces in a once. Overall an amazing thinking game and lots of fun, I would def. recommend it.

Comes with a new twist--you can pop out your own checker at the bottom, then all the checkers in the column drop down one notch. This adds a new way to win. I ordered this version by mistake, but we ended up keeping it anyway because of this new twist. We enjoy playing it with our other variations of Connect Four.

I bought this game for my 9-year old niece. It was a pleasure to see her put down the handheld DS game and pick up an old-school game and enjoy it equally!

I bought Connect Four for my 6 year old grandson. It is an excellent learning game. He is enjoying it, and getting so he can almost beat me! It is a strategy-type game, and teaches kids to plan ahead and to be aware of many possiblities!

Game says 6 and up, but my 4 yo cannot get enough. It has really broadened her cognative problem solving skills. Construction seems a little flimsy, but we keep stressing to be careful with the kids and it has not broken yet.

Bought this game for grandchildren ages 6 & 8 to play with at grandma's house and it has been a great success. It requires some thinking and stategy so forces the players to plan ahead. Grandparents enjoy playing it too. Good for all ages.

This is a wonderful and interactive game to play with your child. My 5-year old son loves it. It encourages him to think about his next move. This is a classic childhood game that provides hours of fun and entertainment!

Bought this for Christmas for my wife and I. We only have a small infant, so it's hard to find others to play games with sometimes... this is a great 2 player game!

Nothing super fancy about this game... just the standard 4 in a row. It does have a score counter built in (which isn't really that usefull, who can't remember a low score of 3 or 4 games?). The score counter also isn't that great when used on carpet - if the game slides on the carpet flooring at all it moves the counter, making it so it isn't really keeping track of the score.

Overall, a fun game!

I bought this game when it was on sale for $5, how could I go wrong? My grandkids play it and enjoy the game. It was money well spent.

This is my absolute favorite game. Maybe it's because I can't lose. Ok, I lose about once every 10 games. But this is so fun to play. I love thinking in patterns and strategizing. Such a basic game, but so much fun
