Bop It Extreme

It was our niece's 7th birthday. She wanted a "Boppit". I Found It .... Looks silly, but I bought it anyway. Picture a 53-year old, a 47-year old, a 45-year old and a 33-year old playing for two hours with the 7 and 8-year olds. It's a challenge and I think that's why we couldn't put it down. The next time you try, you are sure you are going to get the actions right, but you don't, so you anxiously await your next turn. Even at 11pm, tired, and falling asleep, none of us forfeited a turn. The 7-year old did better than any of us.

When I received a BopIt Extreme for Christmas, I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. I was 18! What did I want with a toy? When I finally opened it in a moment of boredom 3 weeks later, I played with it for at least 2 hours (that's a guess; I actually lost track of time). I had so much fun with this toy. It can be immensly frustrating when you lose--and it insults you--but that is more than compensated for when you finally reach the nearly-impossible score of 250. It is an excellent test of speed and reflexes, and the multiplayer mode encourages cooperation and teamwork. I loved BopIt Extreme!

At our early Thanksgiving celebration all 13 of us (7 adults and 6 children) enjoyed trying to master this toy. Children were far more adept than adults. Good because can be played alone or in a group. Great fun for all. Only recommendation for manufacturer would be to add a volume control.

Our 6-year old received "Bop-It-Extreme" for Christmas, and it was an immediate hit! He loves it, as do his 8 year old brother, their 10 year old sister, and their ageless dad (grin), though I must admit that mom hasn't gotten into the game.

It was played almost constantly from day one. The game itself has four options, two for individual play, and two for group play. The game is a challenge, may become somewhat addictive, and can be a lot of fun if you play it with the right frame of mind (and no headache).

There are a few things that you aught to be aware of...as another reviewer aptly pointed out, there is no volume control on the game, though I wish there were. So if you get this game you should have a plan in mind (about where and when it can be played) so the noise it makes will not be too distracting to non-players at your house.

I think that the game does an excellent job of working on hand-eye coordination...and, IT'S FUN! I have sometimes picked it up and played it when there's not a kid in sight.

I think that this is a step up from "Bop-It" which has only three action options, since "Bop-It-Extreme" has five action options.

This toy is a great bit of amusement. And I, for one, would much rather see children doing something more active like playing "Bop-It-Extreme" than passively staring, glassy-eyed and slack-jawed into a computer screen or at a TV set.

Overall, a 5-star toy all the way.

Give it a try, your child will be glad you did!

Did you ever have a toy that only kept you intrested for a day. Not this one! It keeps you coming back for more and without loosing all your money. With funny sarcasim, it will push you to keep trying to beat it. You can either play alone or with any amount of people you want. I recieved one last year and it was the best for Christmas. Everyone could play while we waited for our food. Do your kids a favor and buy it NOW!

With three children, I have seen many toys come and go (most too quickly). This toy is a keeper. We have found once you pick it up ... you can't put it down!

I got a ride to lunch with a co-worker today and she had to move this toy off the seat for us to sit down. That was it. The two passengers in the car couldn't stop playing with it. What a BLAST! We couldn't get enough and couldn't stop laughing!

I immediately ordered three: one for my 8 year old nephew, ONE FOR ME, and one to keep on hand as a gift for an (as yet) undetermined person.

It's too bad more reviewers don't see the "hidden education" involved in this toy. It's hardly "intellectual" but there's more to education than drumming facts into one's head. This toy builds hand-eye AND HAND-EAR COORDINATION (auditory learning gets a well-deserved boost). It also encourages cool thinking under pressure (in a light-hearted "no-pressure" situation!). It's a great outlet for competition in a fun, healthy way--and it's completely non-violent.

Being a 40 yr old kid myself, I gotta admit it'll make a great party/drinking game, too. I can't wait 'til mine arrives! Thanks for the ride, Beth!

I play for a college soccer team, and on one of our away games one of the girls brought along extreme bop-it. The trip was almost three hours long, but because of extreme bop-it we had so much fun. We couldn't stop playing! We had a great time challenging each other, and it really helps with your eye-hand coordination too.

This game is fun, challenging, and exciting. Even adults tend to like it a lot. I think this toy is good for parties or even if your a lone it is fun.

I bought this toy for my 7 year old nephew last Christmas. It looked ridiculous, but what the heck, I figured it will be good for a kid. Imagine my surprise when I heard that he hardly got to play with it since all the adults kept trying it! It's a funny, silly game that requires concentration more than anything. I played it with my nephew last week and was pleasantly surprised to find out that he still loves this game a year after he got it. It can be played by many people (using the "pass it" option), or be played alone (very good for an only child). Enjoy!
