My kids were so excited to get this game for Christmas. I remember playing Guess Who and I was equally excited to play this with them. I thought, how cool, we all love Star Wars, this is going to be great. Wow, was I wrong!
From the second you open the box, you can see this is not the same quality as the old edition of this game. You have to punch out all the pieces and assemble the game and when you do, you will be extremely frustrated because the plastic window pieces do not stay in place or easily slide open and closed. Unlike the old edition, where you could turn it on its side and all the pictures would open up, 90% of these stay closed and you have to force them open. When you do, the windows pop out of their holders. When you're playing, the windows don't close easily and pop out continuously as well. It's so frustrating for the kids to wait between each game while I spend time forcing all the windows back open. The card stock with the pictures is low quality as well. They're smaller and get bent easier. This is a piece of junk. I e-mailed Milton Bradley with these complaints weeks ago and have not received a response. Apparently, the are laughing all the way to the bank. It looks like this cost them about 3 cents to produce and I paid $25 for this game.

My 6 year old son was so excited to get this. We have the electronic version which is great. I can't believe how cheap this one is made - the cards bends/break, you can't open and close it and it breaks in 1 game. He wants nothing to do with it and I wasted $20. I'm shocked how bad this is...

The kids got this as a present and I put it together. The pieces wouldn't lay all the way down and were very hard to pull back up. I figured that after some use they would loosen up and be easier to play with. I was right! Unfortunately now they just fall off the board. I have to flip each piece up individually and they usually come off in my hand. It's very frustrating for me and boring for the kids. I am severely unimpressed with the quality of this game.

I ordered this game from Amazon despite some reviews about poor quality. We already had the original version of the game, which isn't of the highest quality to begin with, so I expected the Star Wars version to be horrible. I was relieved to find that the Star Wars version is of the same quality as our original game. It's not top notch, but it stays together and is playable.
For those who say the cards fall out, I can only assume that you are not inserting them correctly. There is an in-out-in-out-in pattern that you must follow and if you don't do the final tuck, it will pop out. Likewise, if your doors aren't closing all of the way, check for stray pieces of plastic left over from removing them from the frame. The game itself is great. My daughter really knows Star Wars and she loves to play. You must be a Star Wars fan of the original, prequels and Clone Wars movie/series to know who all of the characters are. The same logical development of the original game is still present as the players must ask good questions to eliminate the possible choices.

My son is such an avid Star Wars fan so I purchased this even though I read some poor reviews. It is time consuming to put together and after using it just a few times it is falling apart. My son is only 5 so he is still getting full enjoyment from playing. I would not recommend anyone buy this. It is a big disappointment if you are familiar with the old version of Guess Who. This is not even close to same quality.

Hard and time consuming to assemble. the boys lost interest before we got it together. The pieces keep falling out of the slots. It's frustration! I would not purchase again.

WE bought this for my grandson. He loves Star Wars. I read so many comments about how cheaply it was put together, so we assembled it prior to giving it to him for Christmas. We did not have any issues with the game while getting it together. All the parts worked fine and the game is as fun and enjoyable as we remembered. I recommend this for all little boys that love Star Wars.

First a note on the quality. Both sides of the debate in the reviews are correct. The quality is indeed pretty low, and if you dont figure out how to put it together right and/or you mistakenly let your kid "help" its going to be a nightmare that you'll never get right or enjoy playing. However, I was familiar with the low quality from the purchase of the original (non Star Wars) version (this one was a gift) and, being familiar with the product, and having screwed it up pretty badly the first time, this time I managed to get it set up properly, forbidding the kids from helping. Basically, there is a trick to getting the little paper character portraits properly positioned in the holders, and IF you use the trick, they are more or less stable for a while. If you dont figure out how to do it just right, it aint gonna work. IF set up properly and one takes care with it, it should be playable for a bit. Eventually, when the kids play this unsupervised with their friends, they are probably going to cause some problems, but the game will last a little bit with only moderately annoying maintenance as cards fall out. Its the same construction as the original game, which I think has 4 or 4.5 stars in review. Of course, that doesnt cost as much as this version. The price is crazy for a game constructed this cheaply.
Apart from extra cost for this version (we got it as a gift) my real problem with this version is that the differences between the Star Wars characters are not as pronounced as those in the original version of the game, making for a less balanced guessing experience. Indeed, the game includes a "cheat sheet" to explain who the good guys and bad guys are, who is a robot and who isnt (its not obvious except to hardcore fans), and the specific affilliation of each character (which even true fans may not know or remember). In the original "Guess Who" game, the characters are divided amongst many traits (man/woman/hat/glasses/beard, etc.) Here, there just arent as many traits, and/or they arent remotely balanced. For example, there are very few female Star Wars characters. So if someone asks the question "is it a girl?" and it turns out that the mystery person is female, the game is mostly over. Similarly, you can still have 3-4 people left, and no question to narrow them down other than guessing names, which doesnt happen in the original. The traits are not necessarily balanced all that well in the original, but it seems worse here. Note that kids seem to really dig the game play of "Guess Who" even if, as an adult, you may not fully understand why. The kids that liked Star Wars will probably like this. However, given the quality issues you might be better off waiting till they get it as a birthday gift then buying it for you own kids. If you do buy it, suggest the original. In addition to having more diverse features to make guessing easier and more natural, it also seems to be significantly cheaper.

Our boys, 5 and 6 1/2, got this for Christmas and played it for hours upon hours over Christmas break. It is by far the most successful board game we've gotten for our boys in terms of long-term interest and playability. They can play by themselves without assistance. Mom and Dad enjoy playing it as well. By the way, if your children are familiar with Star Wars characters, then your children don't need to be able to read to play this game. Our Pre-K son plays the game just as well as our 1st grader because he knows the Star Wars characters well enough to play without having to read the names on the cards.
As for the durability- yes, sometimes the cards fall out of their slots and sometimes the plastic flip-cards come off of the board. This happens pretty often, but it's not that difficult to fix and keep on playing (takes 5 seconds). We've gotten pretty used to having to adjust things from time to time and it's worth it for us because we all enjoy this game so much. Besides, it doesn't seem any different in quality than the other versions of Guess Who out there.
